i really didnt want to make a thread but i still have a few questions that i need help with. current setup is 14 plants with a 600wat hps bulb on a light rail. i built a diy aeroponic system, where the water just recirculates, and makes it easier to maintain water temps. i will post picks tomorrow, im too :eyesmoke:right now. my room temp fluctuates from 85-90, and my res tanks is around 74.

my question is can i still top them? the main steams are showing white hairs already. and the smaller bud sites barely peaking are showing white hairs too. oh and these were from clones rooted for about a month. i tried the twisting the stems, so we'll see how that goes.

Earlier would be better but I'd say topping now would be fine, you might just need to flower a little longer. But get advice from more ppl before you do it.

i have 14 plants running in a 18 aeroponic setup. well thanks to just one person advice, i decided to top all my plants anyways. i wanted to do scrog but i could not find a net relatively cheap and local. i bought nylon string and attempted to tie a net but that didnt work so well. any tips is appreciated.

pic 1 shows the whole door.
pic 2 shows the outlet
pic 3 shows whats inside.
pic 4 shows the white hairs that are coming out but u can barely see it
pic 5 same
pic 6 shows the light rail in action
pic 7 shows my res tank.

i plan to add the floater valve but i've been topping everyday. i rarely ever leave my home.

any comments welcome, good or bad. btw this is my first grow.

looks good! can we see some pictures of the aero setup close up. I would try to do something to bring the temp down in your grow room(mabey a portable AC), you don't want them to get heat stressed and hermie. Try to get the temp below 80 if you can. I use an GH aeroflow 20 and would be happy to share some of my tips and tricks on hydro until one of those really smart guys comes along.

when the lights are off the room is in between 77-82. lights on is where it gets tricky. if i leave the door open the temps go down to around 80, but they are covered with mylar and should be closed to reflect light.
for my res tank, i just keep changing frozen water bottles 3-4 times a day. i will take more pics when the lights turn on at night. basically my system was 3 18gallon buckets with a pvc mister as seen in aeroponic cloners.
it is fed by 1 water pump outgoing to 3 buckets, that just recirculates. i was trying to do all this on a budget but i ended up spending more than i had opted to.

we always spend more then we would like! but I would really suggest the portable ac, they are expensive but well worth it. When I add a gallon to the rez I put it in the fridge for awhile to cool down. What is the name of the strain you are growing?

dutch passion's feminized blueberry. i will probably listen to your suggestion and chill the water before hand now.
for the past few days i've been having trouble breathing in my room, will an ionizer work with odor control as well? it really doesn't have a strong smell yet but there seems to be a lot of particles in the air now. i've seen like a $150 air ionizer at walmart, i might have to try it out.

Since you have a venting system already why don't you just buy a 70 dollar Carbon Filter or same priced Odor Sok.

Odor Sok - Activated Carbon Filters. Odour Sock makes carbon canister filters obselete. Perfect for hydroponics - Home

Also yes, unless you are a known on this forum there's really no reason. People come in here to cycle through it while they are bored. Just like the digg effect, 100000 views 0 comments. I do a journal for my own personal satisfaction and because I need help sometimes.
