Good day all, got some pics of the cloner in full swing again!
45 HSS, 3 Romulan and 3 AK47, cut yesterday......
got a timer on the pump this time as well, 15 on 15 off, lets see how it works this time round then.......

Hay wyatte,
i got my timers from peavey mart and Rona, seen not bad ones at home depote tho..... hydro shops do have the best, but might wanna see if ya can find a Pond/irrigation shop.....

as for the Nutz i use......
the KLN Rooting concentrate i use for 1-2 hour presoak, cost's bout $10, i mix 1 tbs to 2 liters of water in a ice cream jug, you don't need that brand, any liquide rooting horomon will do, and i have seen it and other brands at most depots too....

then a 1/4 lid of Growzyme to the 40 liters water in the cloner.
and the growzyme is an enzimes mixture that is Not a rooting horome, the enzimes somehow encourage the health of the stem/roots/water, kills off bad bacteria and stuff, cost about $50 for the jug i got, besides a hydro shop i'm not sure ware you'd find it tho.... and again, you don't even need it, the purer the water (no nutz) the better it works! i use the growzyme as a precation......

i was wondering, what would be the best way to transplant into hydro rocks in buckets (for ebb & flow), instead of soil, damaging the roots? hows your new spraying time working for these cuttings?

Good day all, how do.....

Hay there tommyboi, i get it at my yokal hydro shop..... not sure ware else other then via internet.....

Hay there keeger123, yup there is a way..... i my self havn't done it yet, will be in a few weeks tho, but i know a few peeps that do, and have seen them do it using those clay pellets... hydrotron or something....

what ya need is a water bucket, not even too big,
little bigger and deeper then the grow pot,
fill the jug with ph'd water, water makes everything lighter, less root damage if any,
put the grow pot in the jug,
then hold the clone centred and as deep as ya want it to sit,
with your spare hand start to add handful's of grow medium Gently,
after there is a fair amount of medium in the pot, round enough to root hieght or half,
still holding the clone in place, slowly pull the pot outa the water, add more medium gently till topped up,
now the clone's roots are safe and it should be holding itself up good,

Hope that helps.............

So here be the clones at Day 3......

I actually had 2 die! he he he.... They should never have been tryed anyhow, they were both just small and barly clippings... only put them in the cloner to see if they would work.... nether of them had stems thicker the tooth picks.... pic's of them attached.....

But the rest are looking good.... tops are aiming for the light now, all steam ahead!......

And hay there notpatient .......... it's a Rubermaid Storage Box, got the parts listed on the first page of this DIY if ya wanted to look.....

Day 8..... lotza roots coming out now...... gonna have to go back throu my records, but i'm already positive that i had faster root growth when the pump wuz on 24/7 instead of with the timmer run pump..... i gonna check my records for sure.....

Oh, i also trashed a buncha HSS clones to make room for some Chemo and Gremlin clones, hope they work alright, they were donated off of 2 week budding lady's.........

like i mentioned before.

this is why you dont run your pump constantly (not to mention, clones need a period to dry out as well). running a pump constantly is NOT aero. biggest difference is aero incorporates air for explosive growth...if you are soaking the clones 24/7, they WILL take longer to root

the heat generated from the pump WILL cause slime, especially if your res temps ARENT in check.

you could use h2o2 to try to keep it at bay, but at this point....you may want to start over as the cuttings have been taken over by white gunk/slime/nasty cooties.

also a picture is worth a thousand words

arent those cycle timers about 3 or 4 hundred dollars?

Anyone know where to get a decent timer from? The timer I have for this is a brinks security timer from wallyworld (mart) and the shortest cycle you can do is 15min on 15min off. I would like something that will do 30 seconds or so ever 5 min.... the only thing I have found is over a hundred dollars...

ebay,... but you are not going to find a cycle timer cheap,... new they run 3 to 400 $

slight of getting a hose flow release timer, wich only works for presurized water lines, i've only been able to find the $320 deal at my hydro shop, it does and controles way more then just a pump tho..... like 2 pumps seperat, 2 lights, day and night fans, i'm gonna get a few but am trying to find alternatives, frigin exspencive.....

I'm using a 15 on 15 off kinda timer right now....

Day 9..... lotza roots comin out to play now..... still think i will do my next batch without the timer on the pump, i have had quicker root growth with 24h steady water flow.......

Hey Epix, Hat Trick Steve and all inquiring about timers -

A company I have purchased many things off of on ebay and directly is Quail Mountain Ranch.
They have a preset recycle timer for 3min on and 5 min off 68.88 with free shipping - I swear they have another also... 1 min on 4min off but I cant seem to find that.
They also have another one that is adjustable from 1 sec - 40min on and 1 min to 8hours off. This lists for 89.88 with free shipping. (probably the better deal in the long run)

He doesnt have these listed on the actual website - quailmountainranch (dot) net but there is a link to his ebay store on there.

The guy that runs the business is a strait shooter - Never did me wrong and I have ordered a bunch of stuff off of them. They will also meet other people's price if you find it cheapier somewhere else. One thing to point out is that sometimes you will see someone have the same item for a few dollars cheapier however, they charge shipping (and its usually expensive) QMR doesnt charge shipping at all and it ends up being cheapier because of that.
For example, I order all of my net cups from them... I searched the net to find the best possible deal that I could for net cups anywhere.... then went to them and said.. if you can beat this you have my business... and they did. (200 net cups shipped to me for less than 40.00)

Epix I sent you a private message - ignore the part about how the timer worked out for you... For some reason I didnt see a new 12th page on this thread before I sent you that. let me know about the rest of it though please.

Hope this helps everyone in need of timers.

Hay all, how be this fine day.....

Day 11.... 3/4 rooted now, nice groups a roots too..... and the clones in the pic's with the yellowing leaves are the new ones i put in beggin og the week, only top misted them once so the untrimmed bigger lower leaves will go the way of the dinosor.... And with my cloning exsperence, all that does is make a mess, don't hurt the clones at all....
