This isn't quite accurate. You don't have to use coco nutrients to have success with coco. You do have to introduce food to the coco from the start. But, some of my favorite coco growers on this site go organic with amendments similar to super soil. You have to stay on top of your cal-mag immediately due to the salty nature of coco.

I have been watering every two days untill decent run off. After not watering/feeding last night the more sickly looking of the two seedling grew out another full size set of leaves overnight...so I will risk another night to dry out as I can still feel some weight in the bottom of the pots. That's half the frequency of what I was feeding!

So Id dare say that's my problem Although I'll keep updating for a while longer, hopefully what I find can help someone else too!

Oh Boy!!! At that size its no way you should be watering more than 2 times a week. let the coco dry. so its dry even when you stick your finger deep into it. you can't allow them to stay in this state for a period of time, but weed likes to dry out.

Oh, and I would minimize the run-off unless you're trying to flush.

You sir, are a bloody legend I think the main problem is....me! I read and read, over analyze, then read some more which has once again screwed me haha. In my head I see coco as a medium that always has a good air/water mix as long as theirs good drainage, therefore I think to myself once roots have been given a bit of time to grow, keep the mixture moist as possible...

Gotta change my way of seeing coco in the first few weeks by the looks! At what stage do you keep the medium saturated? Probably around the 12" tall mark? That's when mine always seem to take to my "over-watering" approach anyway.

Just an update:

Purchased a bottle of Algen Extract, so if my base nutes are missing some micros this will hopefully fill in the blanks. From now on in I'm going to try feed every 4th day instead of every 2nd, seems to be helping. The seedlings haven't been doing much in the way of growth, although very shortly after their first transplant, many thick white roots have hit the bottom of the pot....hopefully things will come around soon! Any more ideas guys?

SOLVED!

Turns out they werent happy with the 24/0 light schedule, which is very strange as with other strains I have had good results with no dark period. Introduced 18/6 and within 24 hours the leaves are nice and perky, greening up nicely and good growth has resumed....how strange!

Maybe of topic a bit guys but !? Ive just started my first grow in coco, long story short, I've just gone in my grow and found 3 foriegn seedlings sprouting in my 20L coco pots lmfao ? Is this normal I'm guessing it's come in the 10L Botanicare bricks I've used. 2 of them look the same type and the other is different ? None are cannabis lol. What ever they are they look really healthy so they must like coco too lol. If someone tells me how to post pics I will.

Hi, you don’t have to wait for it to dry out, you’re growing in coco. It has to stay well all the time. You’re supposed to feed it daily with nutes. There is no risk of overwatering in coco. I did the same mistake before..but I was told to water everyday, and things went fine from then. Goodluck!
