Hey guys, I'm setting up a closet room and i plan on having 3-4 plants from seeds total(white widow, ak47)
It's a 2'x3.5'x7'high closet
Im using a 400w hps and i plan on venting from the bottom through the roof into the attic

I was wondering the best way to ventilate since ill be sleeping in the same room and it can't be too noisy.
Will a carbon filter keep the room/house from smelling funky?
I was thinking of using a squirrel cage setup but i don't know if that will be enough
and should i cool off the hps and will it get too hot.
Im also using flora nutes and if i do everything right and no problems, could i get like 9 ounces from 4 plants from seeds leaving them in veg. till they are about 2ft high?
I appreciate the help guys thank you

pick up a blower fan from a hydroponics shop, if you hang it bungie cords or have it sitting on rubber ect, they're pretty sweet.

if you have a fan blowing on the light and the exhaust on the otherside (like a cooltube but without the tube) it will keep the temp down alot, I have a 1000 watt in a room a bit bigger then yours.

I have a closet grow going and have almost your exact set up, my closet is 120 cubic feet. I have a crawl space hatch in the top of this particular closet into the attic. In the attic, I have two centrifugal fans mounted on beams, one 177 cfm exhaust fan and one 125 cfm intake fan. In the hatch I have two holes drilled that are 4 1/2" diameter with dryer ducting running to my fans. The intake fan has ducting running to a vent that goes outside and pulls fresh air in then pushes it out at the bottom of the closet via dryer hose ducting. The exhaust sends it up out the very top of the closet and into the attic where it dissipates on its own. This particular set up is a bit overkill and vents the room fully in one minute. The temps always stay under 78 with my 400 watt hps running, which isn't cool tubed.

It makes a little whirring noise, but I honestly sleep better with it going as I like white noise. Having the fans in the attic also mutes the sound dramatically. If you exhause into the attic, you just want to make sure that the attic is well ventilated and large enough to dissipate the smell and moisture without causing mold or mildew.

As far as smell goes, my system creates enough negative pressure so that all the smell goes up into the attic. Walking into my room you could never smell the fact that I have a four footer 8 weeks into flowering in the closet!!! If you wanted to, which I don't, you could put a carbon scrubber to scrub the exhaust, but I don't find I need to.

wow thanks guys. If i use a cooltube from HTG High Tech Garden Supply

Then all i'd have to do is run a duct with an inline fan from the room through the cool tube to the attic?
can i have a carbon scrubber with this? and also having a like 12" oscilating fan with the cool tube is enough vent?
If so this sounds perfect!
