My C24 Plan / Progress

Hey everyone, this is my first construction and after poking around this site for awhile I feel like I'm finally ready to take on this task.

I'm going to grow in a C24 cabinet from Home depot... i'm sure you all know what this is. if not the dimensions are 72" high, 48"wide and 22" deep.

I'm basically copying alteredego's cabinet in this thread: The Garden's Cure

but i'm hoping to customize this to suit my needs a bit more.

For the lighting I'm going to get a 600W HPS bulb and a cooltube. if the temp is reasonable i'm going to add in other supplemental fluoros in the canopy.

Smell is an issue so I am going to be running everything through a carbon filter at the end. (a fan pushing into a carbon filter rather than a fan pulling through a carbon filter is better, right?)

I have read alteredego's ideas for the intake where you drill holes in the bottom of the cabinet and add 90degree PVC pipes to get rid of the light. this idea seems to be sufficient but i was wondering if anybody else has some suggestions for doing the intake?

Ive also been told that in order for this to work i need to maintain a negative pressure in the cabinet so i will be trying to do that also.

I have two ideas for the design of the cabinet.

a) im going to have just one big chamber that i will use for both vegging and flowering. this is my first grow so this is sufficient for me. design also seems easier than the other option because all of the ducting can be run from the end of the cooltube and out.

this is the plan[not to scale]

b) or i will split the 48" width of the cabinet into two sections, one for flowering and one for vegging. this way i can keep a mother and clones in the veg chamber and transfer them into the flowering chamber when its time to bud them. I don't even know if this is possible with such a small area. If i do this i dont know how im going to run the ducting so i will need a lot of feedback. thanks in advance guys :D

this is roughly what i'm imagining [not to scale]

Keep in mind that I'm only really interested in growing 4 or so plants for this first grow but that could increase as i gain experience. a perpetual harvest would be nice but I cant really go bigger than this cabinet for now so please let me know whether or not its realistic to split it into two chambers.

also this cabinet doesnt have to be too stealth, so if its possible to make a better design with the scrubber outside of the box or something please let me know

thanks in advance guys, hopefully i can make myself a nice lil growing environment

edit: please critisize my ideas :) i wont be offended and i could use the suggestions

I don't think so, I'm pretty sure that pulling through the scrubber is the way to go. A lot of folks go filter---light---fan---exhaust

It shouldn't really matter with those dementions. Just a 4lbs carbon scrubber should have the whole thing smelling spring time fresh.
