My buds are small. What to do?

Ive had 4 plants under 12/12 for 2 weeks. The smallest plant which is 2 feet tall (durban poison) has buds on it. They look nice. All are in 3 gallon pots. The others are about 3 feet and i cant see buds forming, only hairs. Seems like the bigger ones are growing slower. I think the bigger ones may need bigger pots. But what do you guys think? (The others are Critical Kali Mist, Blue Thai and Northern Lights)

I've only done a couple of grows, I'm new to it right now but I haven't had great bud formation
after just 2 weeks on 12/12. Takes a while longer. By the time it reaches harvest, my colas
and other buds are huuuuuge. Give it time, it'll come good if you've got everything dialled in --
watering, temps, humidity, etc.

How much light etc....

Everything that affects the plant has an effect on the buds. A 2 week old flower is so very different from an 8 week flower, so much change in that time.

the taller plants will be sativa dominate and the shorter ones will be indica dominate most likely.

indica dominate plants flower faster than sativa dominate ones.

if you want all the plants in the grow room to behave identically then you need to keep all plants in the room the same cutting.

Well Sativa buddy I told you not to defoliate too much, as the fan leaves are the solar panels to bud growth...you took off too many leaves and now you have small buds...I even tried to tell you to put it back in veg to grow some more leaves so your buds would be bigger, a lot of ppl with more experience than me tried to tell you not to take off that many leaves, or put it back into veg....well, now you see why...not trying to be the bad guy here, but, we told you....now take some clones and let them root so you don't have to buy more beans and start over...AND LET THOSE LEAVES LIVE...lol...BTW have you EVER posted a pic of these plants??? I don't remember....

Honestly youre right because the durban poison i did not defoliate purposely becasue of what you guys said. And durban poison is my most sativa dominant strain. But i also let it flower when it got to a foot tall. The other ones i let flower when they got to about 2 feet. But ll the ones i defoliated are getting bud formation slower.

Being big enough to admit a mistake and learning from it goes a long way to being a better grower, or just about anything else, too.

These are recent pics of plants 2-3 weeks in 12/12. I don't know how yours look but if they are similiar I would not worry.

Usually by 2 weeks are they formed or is it just hairs?
I usually have small buds forming by 2 weeks of 12/12, but being sativas it may take longer, you will still get bud....but the thing you will get that's more valuable is knowledge my friend, and that will go a long way on your next grow...we all go through it, my first grow was terrible...but I learned ALOT by failing with a few and bringing the rest to harvest, and only 1 of those were worth talking about...lol...now I can read my plants so I have happy healthy girls...trust me with your attitude you'll be growing top quality in no time...good luck buddy...

DEFOLIATE..? What the hell is that ? Who "defoliates" anything..? And for what reason ?

See if not cutting the leaves off helps on your next grow. All you can do is learn from your mistakes. If you don't make them now, you'll make them down the road when the stakes could be much higher. Also, things become more critical during flowering; something a bit off may not even be noticeable during veg, that same small thing can play hell during flowering. G/L!

I do, right after I cut down a fully ripened plant.
