My Beans Arrived!! First Grow that isn't Bag Seed. Come Play Along!!!

I finally got up enough nerve, and cash to order myself some genetics, rather than growing out the same old bullshit normal bag seed I've been smoking for 20 years.

Until today I have been powerless to do anything about the quality of pot I smoked, I was a prisoner!!!
Well NO MORE!! I now have my seeds!!

Seriously I have grown out a few runs with Fox Farm Happy Frog Soil, and recently I harvested a couple ladies grown in DWC. I am finally confident enough in my knowledge and abilities that I spent the cash for some real seeds. I want to take a quick second and let you all know that I ordered these on 9/11 from Herbie's Head Shop,
and they arrived today on 9/20. That's 9 days to normal folks, or 3 lifetimes for potheads waiting for seeds in the mail. They were packaged in a very discreet manner, and from shopping around seemed very fair on pricing, and their site is a snap to use......plug over!

I ordered:
5 Barney's Farm Liberty Haze Feminized and
5 00 Seeds Auto Chocolate Skunk a.k.a. Auto Critical Mass
Freebies:
1 Delicious Seeds Cotton Candy Feminized
2 Samsara Green Love Potion Feminized and
5 White Widow x Skunk #1 Regular

I am going to run a journal here from start to finish.
I would love anyone to feel free to jump on and give your opinions, suggestions, comments, and hell even complaints if you got em.
I am not sure exactly how I want to set up my space, what seeds I want to start with, or really weather I am going to use soil, soilless, or DWC, or a combination of all.

I'm going to end this post now, and start 2 more.
1 will be an illustration of my space. Please help me with ideas on configuration of it.
Next will be a list of what I have as far as equipment. Suggestions on upgrades/additions are welcomed as well.

Here is a sketch of my room. I am a renter, so I don't plan to move walls and such. This room was a photographers dark room some time ago. It is 100% light tight.
I use the term "approximately" in my measurements because I can't find my tape measure. I got up and got it from the tool box. Sat down rolled a joint, and I'll be dammed if I can remember where I put it. I think I'm pretty close on the estimates.

Please help me with a few lay out ideas for my space.

I currently have
1 400w HPS with Bat Wing
1 24" t5 4 bulb lamp
and a shit ton of CFL's if need be.

I would eventually like to run perpetual. I can host mommy's and clones elsewhere if need be. I am thinking 4 plants to start. 2 will be the Auto Flowering for sure (trying to get wifey interested....hence the "chocolate" skunk beans) and 2 others.
Any comments, and suggestions, and photos or links to your space with explanation would be appreciated.

Hell yeah, big time now with high grade seeds! can't wait to get mine too, 1st time!! Sweet that you got a whole room to work with, don't know if I'd be much help as my space is much smaller so only cfls. Have you already used the 400w on previous grows? I've had my eye on a HPS for a while and was wondering if you can you control the heat easily without the air-cooled setups(cool tubes)? Which one(s) are you gonna grow 1st by the way? All look like great options good luck bro

Yes I have run 3 grows with the HPS. I keep it about 16-18"above the canopy with no problems concerning heat.
I am however lucky that the room I have is in the basement, on a very cool concrete floor. It really helps keep the temps. down.

I put 4 seeds down to germinate.
I went with:
2 of the Auto Chocolate Skunks so I have some nice buds for Christmas
1 of the Liberty Haze and
1 of the Love Potions

I will get a pic of my germinating set up posted soon.

Sweet, i just started germinating my lemon kush and an indoor mixed strain i picked up. Since you're about a week ahead of me I will check back from time to time to compare my progress with yours. I may end up buying a 400w HPs/MH kit soon to maximize potential yield but will likely only use it for flower because where I live is hot and dry and my grow space (actually a growbox 2'x2'x5') is kinda tight. I would prefer to buy one that doesn't enclode the bulb in glass but wonder if i could keep the temps down. Wonder if a good air exchange system on the box alone would be enough to keep the heat in check?

Sound good. Ive got 2 liberty haze on the go right now. 1 week into 12/12. Been a treat to grow so far.

You are on your way now.. I would just go with what medium I feel comfortable with. Good luck with this run
