my 2nd grow....

hopefully this one goes better than the last! you can look in my posts i had nice ladies growing for about 2 months or so had switched to 12/12 and then they died for whatever reason haha... anyway 2nd try..

i have 3 going right now in soil. seeds were just from collecting seeds over the ears outta bags.

they were started on 8/21/09

one (lily), in big pot, is really picking up. the other two (cassie, in big pot and gwenn, in solo cup atm...) are laggin a bit behind but they aren't doing bad.


i also have two feminized seeds of a really good strain going in the aerogarden. i'm not sure what they are, my buddy told me when he gave me the seeds, but i was a bit wasted and dont rememeber. when they are about 3 weeks old or so, one of them is going back to my buddy so i will have one nice female (Chloe) going in the aerogarden.

aerogarden seeds were put in on 9/02/09, so i guess just about a week later or so than the first. they were germinated on paper towels in a dark bowl a few days before that

i haven't tried soil before but i had the three in soil going in the aerogarden when my buddy gave me the good strain, so i figured i would just transplant them. they seem to be doing well though.

the other plants you see are grape tomatoes, and cat nip (to fuck with the neighbors cats ) but they are only going to be in there for a few more days before they go outside. they were started germinated the same day as the aerogarden strains. damn do grape tomatoes grow fast haha


the lights are 60w CFLs (x4). i'm going to get some more of thoes as soon as i get around to it in the next few days and the plants get a bit bigger. plus the aerogarden light

(oh and btw its alot brighter in there than it looks, i just suck at taking pictures,)

there are two fans (squirrel and oscillating) in there and they keep the whole box at a nice 78-80 degrees.

only thing i have to figure out is how to get more CO2 to them without getting a tank. i don't have room or money for one of them.

i read somewhere online that you can spray seltzer water on them, and they will absorb the co2 from that, so i got that but haven't tried it yet,

also like 3 or 4 times a day, i'll turn off the fans, open the box, and smoke a ciggarette or take grav bong hits and blow it in there, cause i feel the cig smoke gives them co2, and after i blow the pot smoke on them, i make sure to tell them "this is what you are going to be when you grow up!"

i don't know if any of that last paragraph even helps or makes sense, but it makes me happy haha

just an update on pictures,

i transplanted cassie into her own little pot for now, she is still growing all retarted and what not, hopefully you can see from the first few pics that the top set of leaves that just came in came in with 3 sets instead of two, what i mean is, they usually come up 2 at a time, on opposite sides back and forth as the plant goes up, this last set of fan leaves grew 3, 2 opposite of each other and 1 on the side forming a triangle....

i do wonder if this means anything having a retarted plant... is it special like superwoman? haha i doubt it.

the white gooey looking stuff ontop is DE, i had silverfish (silverworms?) or what ever they are called invade a few days ago, so i covered with DE and in like a week imma just transplant all the ladies into new soil.

welp, just replanted my girls this morning.

i was really surprised of the density of roots in the two smaller containers, and i know it sounds like common sense, but all three of these girls are the same age, yet the one that was in the biggest pot the longest is the biggest haha.

yeah like i said sounds like common sense, but i woulda never thought about it unless it was in front of me

the ttwo girls in the hydro bay aren;t doing that well, i think the rock wool i orginially used was too dense for thier roots to break through, so icut alot of the rock wool away to see if it would help them, and put back on the little bio dome things. i don't know if they will make it

but cross our fingers.

oh and i gotta go get another set of cfls when i run out today for the third pot

happy birthday! my girls are one month old and doing really well. gave them thier first nut bath two days ago and they exploded after that. might give em a second dose next time i watered

the biggest girl just got her first true set of 9 leaves.

i am going to end up getting some wire with rubber on it and train these plants into an S shape or so because i already got them planted correct off to the side of the pot. never tried training a plant before but limited grow room i got, so fuck it!

oh and feel free to post on my grow journal! i'd love input!

oh and btw they are about 6 - 8 inches tall, after i train them and they get about a foot trained, imma start flowering,

also i put in extra lights, now there are 4 60 watt cfls, and 2 100 watt, imma replace all the 60 watts with 100s when i get to home depot next.

didn't realize till the guy at the store told me that even though a cfl says 100 watts, its only draining like 13 watts of power, so i am not gonna overload my sockets


oh and opening my grow box is like looking into the sun, or brighter haha. takes me like 5 min to recover my eyes to the point i can see again

i got some rubber lined wire, and wrapped it around my plants then bent them, then next day i took the wire off. realized im a month in, and i don't wanna wait anymore to flower, so i just changed to 12/12 today. i;ll post more pics when they start showing sex

yeah i couldn't wait till they showed sex to post more pics cause they are looking extra pretty.

i have em on 12 12 as of yesterday.

also i took my regular nuts, then i took a big gallon container of water, and mixed like 1/3 of the container with my nut solution.

i've just been watering them out of that, and they seem to love it.

i just tied them down cause they were getting to big

not a clue, stuff i've gotten from different bags over the years. the biggest one has branches out of the middle nodes that are almost as long as the fan leaves branches, the other two have just very small leaves comming out of the nodes, so at least it might be two different stuff lol!

WOW, i would never hae expected less than 24 hours after i tied them down they have already grown like a half inch to an inch and straightened themselves out propper.

i think i have one boy and two girls.

i think the one in the pink pot is a boy. its got the starting of balls. the other two only have thin pistlis, no balls yet, so i'mg guessing they are girls or they are just jerk boys who are waiting another day to screw with me

yup. gwenn turned out to be a dude, so i trashed him this morning, but 2 out of 3 being females, i can't complain about that!!

with the tieing down, all the side branches have exploded in height, imma start having to tie the side branches down soon also

still using nutes every feeding, at about 1/3 strength. they seem to really really love eating every other day.

i started watering them everyday now. every third watering i'm giving them just plain water, cause i read somewhere it was good to flush the soil if you are constantly adding nutes...


i upgraded my lights, i now have 6 100w cfls (soft white)

lily, my pretiest girl has buds all over her, at least 10 branches with buds on them, thanks to the tying down

cassie just still hasn't done anything but get bigger and not show anything but presex flowers.... i'm guessing they are a different strain as i used bag seed, so who knows when she will start flowering.

Subscribed. They look great, nice recovery from when they were small! Have you got flowering nutes for them yet? It's about time for them. Also - have you tried molassas at all? I use it on mine, one TBSP per gallon of water - supposed to help the buds bulk out, and give a slightly sweeter taste.
