Nice, I definitely want to try scrog when I get a few grows under my belt. I just love the idea of growing a few plants and having a bigger yield than some 10 plants grows if you do it right. Do you raise the screen at all during the grow or does it stay at the same height?

Hey bro! How's it going? You know, I've been growing for over 11+ years, & not 1 time have I ever done a "scrog"!! I know that it involves a screen, & the plants grow up through it & all. But what's the point really? Does it make the plants produce a bigger yeild? Do you supper crop, or LST during a scrog grow? Could you break it down 4 me bro? I've seen the b4, just never asked about it or anything.. so if you don't mind, could you just try and explain it alittle bro?? Thanks.. Your friend, Dank.

i have heard a few people say it dose increase yield and i can see where it would as there is move ligh coverage over the plan to the standard way
erm im still learning myself and all i have done with mine is top them and lst them so far just gonna keep growing them and the will start to move them trough out the screen as they get taller
ive been having a look at youtube videos mostly and then once i had a general idea just set that screen up out of some chicken wire and some old tent poles i had

Just do it. It is not hard at all.

The screen stays the same height. You can secure a screen to each pot if you want using bamboo garden stakes.

I got away from scrogging for a couple runs but hated dealing with my buds flopping all over.

I have 3 plants in two different scrogs right now vegging. I will probably flip them in a week or so.

Blue Moonshine under a 250 hps with some CFLs on the side.
Blueberry and Blueberry mixes have snappy stems, you have to be a little careful.

Strawberry Cough on the left and Fire OG on the right under a 600 watt hps in a 3 x 3 tent.
Both of these plants have nice bendy stems, but the SC leaves are a bit fragile. The Strawberry Cough leaves doesn't really like to be moved but snap out of it an hour or so later.

I use a garden screen from home depot with 2" x 2" openings.
I top them once and put the screen in when they are about 12" tall. The screen is taped to tent poles.
It is personal preference, but I like the screen about 10 inches above the top of the pots.

I would be happy to help with any questions. Feel free to pm me if I forget about this thread.
For some reason my recent posts do not show up in my profile page.

The point is light control and penetration. All the protruding buds are the same distance from the light so all get the chance to develop as if they were top cola.

If I didnt have a plant count I probably wouldnt scrog. I only scrog. Pound per plant is fairly easy. Extended veg times are the only real downfall but having a didicated veg room is the only way. I put a plant into flower, take a cutting immediately. By the time that cutting roots and develops a nice amount of roots, about 2 weeks and then veg her out for another 6-7 its time to hit the flower room and the cycle repeats

ive gone for the 1x1 holes on my scrog to try combat the buds flopping and im gonna give it about 4 weeks in there on 24/0 then 1 week of 18/6 then down to 11/13

A scrog grow or screen of green involves useing a net above the canopy, as the plant grows through the net, you pull it back under and redirect it to grow horizontily thus filling out the net. Once in flower, the buds will grow up through the net and because the entire canopy is even, you get perfect light distribution among all your buds instead of a larger plant where your lower buds develope slower than your coloas. The idea being you get a sog grow with less plants. This is helpful if your medical grower and the law limits the number of plants you can have or simply saves you money on seeds. Also helpful if you have limited height in your grow room, as with both scrog and sog, your keeping your plants reletivly short.
