If you have mold growing on your stems or the stem feels mushy it's most likely over watering. Also beware that seedlings can't handle much nutes in the beginning so a check of your soil is in order. For your first grow it is vitally important not to over love your babies, in other words leave them alone until the soil is almost dry. Also if I were in your shoes I would get a good thermometer in your box and check your temps up by the light and also at the canopy. If you have extra funds it's also nice knowing the temp of the ambient air outside the box and also having a readout of the soil temps helps too.

You might want to consider adding some more ventilation to your room, remember you want to have air constantly moving in your crop, especially since your in a "box." In any case it looks like you have done your homework and your cabinet is definitely stealthy. I think your going to love your results once your system is dialed in. Another thing to consider is running a Ceramic Metal Halide bulb if you have the cash because they run cooler than HPS and MH from my understanding and in the case of bare bulb applications that's a slight edge. In addition if your going to run two boxes the CMH is great for veg. Just some ideas for you to toss around, but if your budget is tight I would spend more on venting that cabinet because without good ventilation your crop will always fail. Good luck and happy growing.

the door opens from the front i.e with the drawers. it was an old set of drawers that wasnt being used, so i took the front off the drawers and fixed them all together as a solid door..
I'm stealing your idea! :D

i was thinking that was the case( over watering) i get get abit paranoid when i start seeing the soil drying out...i feel the need to give them a spray...

im not sure whether i need more ventilation, i have 9 x 120mm x 35mm arctic cool pc fans running inside the box, 4 on 1 circuit and 5 on another, i have fresh air being pulled directly from the outside of my garage and the warm are directed into the garage itself....once i get to the satge when i can switch my hps on all 9 fans will be on, i tested the box for week with my hps on 24hr just to get the temp perfect ( i did have to add 2 more fans)...but it runs very stable at a considant temp, but once the temp outside starts dropping dramatically i will have to knock the fans off 1 by 1....

theres not a chance in hell the all 6 will fit in there once they get to a decant growth rate, im hoping to pull the best 3 out from the 6 and use them untill they need transferring to a bigger room.. the other 3 a dude across the street will have them........i really need to start getting my arse in gear, i defo need a ph tester ( i know i should have 1 already !!!!) but i think the next try for my is gonna be rockwool cubes from what i hear they are pretty much the bees knees......

It'd be better to have it a little on the dry side then soaked. How many cubic feet is it? Whats the CFM on the fan
As for germinating I simpily put my seeds in rockwool cubes and keep it moist, havnt had a problem yet & yes you def need a ph tester of somesort
