My 1st Grow - Constructive Criticism Accepted

Thanks! I'm not going to do anything drastic yet, like dump crazy nutes into it. I will see what the watering of PHd water does and evaluate the plant with some light foliar spraying :)

White Rhino 2011 Underfed.jpgI used to have yellowing leaves regularly popped up around the end of vegging ( see nightmare pic ) I grow in Biobizz all mix soil I started using their Biogrow basic vegging nute at 1mL per litre and that's fixed it.

I just concocted a 10 ml solution of Buddha Grow, 10 ml of Trinity, 5 ml CalMag, in 1 gal, PHd to 6.5.

I used that to foliar feed all my plants, did a slight misting over them. Lets see what that does.

Do I need to store these spray bottles in the fridge? The hydro shop guy told me to do that. Last time i kept some in this spray bottle, it got massively stinky and I threw the entire bottle out.

Can any experts answer this question:

If using Roots Organics Soil - do you need to PH the water / feedings? I heard that you do not use PH up or down to adjust when growing organically.

I've been using this stuff religiously lately and have noticed my runoff PH drop like crazy after a nute feeding (PH 5.0), i'm starting to get clawing on a 2nd plant and am wondering if it is the PH up and down?

I'm using the following nutrients all at 1/4 str:
Aurora line: Buddha grow, trinity, buddha bloom
General organics Cal Mag
VermiT compost tea
Bud candy

So after reading all that, what I gathered was, organic soil created micro organisms. These micro organisms feed, live, and feed your plants N P K.

I'm beginning to think, this is why the Aurora nutes line is low N P K. Where as in non organic (chemical grows), the N P K on nutes is high, because you're feeding the nutrients directly to the plant.

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Update: Week 6 Day 2 for most plants and ~week 3.5 for Photo. Both the Kush Ryders caught up and are now flowering, bud sites everywhere. The Blimburn is no longer one of the bigger plants, however, it is the most far along, biggest buds of the gang so far.

The G13 Diesel and Dinafem White Widow are still vegging it seems, I'm not sure how, but they only have small preflowering pistils, but no buds. I'm wondering if i'll have to 12/12 them. The G13 diesel is also the tallest at probably 19-22 inches.

My photo is doing great, topped it. Here are some shitty iPhone pics, was too hung over to do any real shots.

Oh and I also completely decided to stop PHing my organic grow. Tap water with chlorine removed, all organic nutes, no ph up or down. 1 watering 1 feeding so far, no ill-effects. I'm gonna make those little microorganism bastards earn their keep.

So far so good dictate, cant be much help with the high level Bioscience involved in Organic grows but you seem to have a handle on it, your plants look healthy and what you would expect for 5.5 weeks.

Thanks!! I hope I can make it work. I wonder if growing organically causes things to take longer and perhaps have an effect on the yield. In anycase, I just fed them again tonight. Upped the bloom nutes a little for the guys having problems flowering. The G13 diesel and the White widow... so hopefully they start flowering like the other 3.

I will upload some better pics tomorrow that aren't under the LED.

Looking good, actually dictate, not sure if I qualify as a Organic grower myself, mines are in BioBizz All Grow soil, and get fed BioBizz's BioGrow vegging nutes and BioBloom flowering nutes, I think these may be technically Organic products, but if so its the easier way to do it than the making up of bat guano tea and all the other stuff you would normally associate with going organic, but Organic is a great kind of different outlook on growing and I know that in Amsterdam where I go occasionally A Organically grown weed commands a higher price than a normal grow.

It's been awhile since my last update, things have been rolling along. So since going completely organic (no ph up or down), the plants have been well for the most part. I got signs of deficiency, at some point, then increased the nutes... then there was slight nute burn. I've been trying all sorts of stuff on top of the Roots Organic nute line, I've added VermT for a few feedings, there's also a free tea at my local ponics shop. All in all i'm pretty satisfied with where my girls are. On top of it, my 6th plant, the photo is doing great. We took a few clones off of her about 1.5-2 weeks ago and all of them are doing well. I setup my closet as a mother/clone room and am using my pll-tek4 lamp (20k lumens) for that.

The LEDs are really doing well for me, the plants are out growing the tent, especially sideways. They're so bushy now. For awhile I had the G13 Diesel Auto and Blimburk AK auto mixed up in the pictures. The pictures below should reflect that.

Blimburn Ak Auto - This is by far the biggest of the 5 autoflower plants that i'm growing, it has so many nodes and is the tallest. I'd say it's probably almost 3.75 feet tall and very bushy, as you can see. This guy has been through it all, nute deficiency due to the ph up and down killing all the microorganisms, then nute burn when I loaded them up. Never had to flush, just cut down on the nutes and watered as normally would. She's always been the biggest, but was the last to flower of the 5, really late. She's really tall and sativa like. I'm hoping the buds will really fatten up.

Blimburn AK Auto_1.jpgBlimburn AK Auto_2.jpg

G13 Diesel Auto - This one was the biggest of the 5 for awhile, fastest developer... it is now the smallest of the 5 but the most progressed. Like the advertisement on attitude, it's a christmas tree like plant. The main cola is fattening up very nicely. This one hasn't had much problems for me, was the easiest to grow. There were barely any issues with it besides some eagle clawing early on, since then it's been great. 2 feet to 1.75 feet tall maybe?

G13 Diesel Auto.jpgG13 Diesel Auto_2.jpg

Dinafem White Widow Auto - This guy was the runt of the 5 for the longest, now it's almost as big as the Blimburn, albeit more lanky. I have now determined the early stunting due to the mistplacement of the seed, it did the wraparound up and around back into the soil. Whenever I water in the area you can see it. It was the 2nd to last to flower, it flowered maybe 1 day earliar than the Blimburn, which was very late. The pistils are really white on this plant, same with the 2 above. This guy is around 3.5 feet tall

Dinafem White Widow Auto.jpg

WoS Kush Ryder 1 - Both Kush ryders pretty much started flowering at the same time. One might be a day or two ahead. I'm not sure if this is a phenotype difference but this kush ryder is very thick, stocky, and the plant seems slightly darker green and the pistils are extremely white. It sorta looks like the G13 Diesel, forresty dark green. Both the Kush Ryders were fed quite a bit more nutrients as I heard Indicas love the nutes. They have been very easy on me, no problems at all beside the early slow growth.

Wos Kush Ryder 1.jpgWoS Kush Ryder 1_2.jpgWoS Kush Ryder 1_3.jpg

WoS Kush Ryder 2 - This one is somewhat different than the first KR1, it's taller, slightly lankier and the buds are not as close together. The pistils on this guy are also slightly more orange and from what I can tell more resemble the pictures of the WoSKR I see on this site. I fed this guy extra nutes and he has been loving it.

WoS Kush Ryder 2.jpgWoS Kush Ryder 2_2.jpgWoS Kush Ryder 2_3 Orangey Hairs.jpgWoS Kush Ryder 2_4.jpg

Blue Rhino (Photo) - this mother has been transplanted to a 2 gallon a few weeks ago and since has been thriving. Regular every other nute feeds have been paying off. I fimmed her at about week 5 or 6 and there are now 4 main colas. We took 4 clones off of her at about 2 weeks ago and those clones are fully rooted into small pots. I will be transplanting them to 2 gallon pots in a few weeks, when the autos are done. I have no pictures of the mother / clone room, but will get those up as soon as I get a chance.

That's all folks, feel free to post any questions or comments!

All the pics above were taken with a crappy Nikon I got, wow does it suck. My buddy took this with his iPhone a few days ago, it was probably the best "artsy" photo. This is one of the lower colas on the WoS Kush Ryder 2

I'll be hitting Week 9 (day 63) this Thursday for most of my plants. When do you guys think I'll be harvesting? What do you guys think I'll be yielding? Take a wild guess :)

One question I did have for the masses, is it still suppose to stink if you have a carbon filter and fan? I live in a 4 unit condo type apartment, when I walk up the stairs i don't smell anything, when I open my door to my 900 sq ft apartment, it blasts me in the face.

I have 5 autoflowers in a 3x3 secret jardin with exhaust and carbon filter. I can see the negative pressure and the tent caving in, so i'm assuming there are no leaks.

Hmmm... I'm on day 34 of flower, and I don't have that issue... I've got the same setup as you (albeit a smaller tent). What's your exhaust (440cfm 6" is mine). Also, how do you run your setup? (ie. filter->fan->light->exhaust)?

Perhaps some Ona Gel might help if you leave a jar of it open in your condo... here's the site, you can browse around to see if it might be worth it. Hopefully someone else will pipe up as well.

I have a TD 150s 6 inch inline fan and a Ventech 6x20 carbon filter attached like this (see below). I have 1 opening in my tent for air intake and the tent creates a vacuum. Not sure why it still reeks. All of my plants are day 75 autoflowers, so full on budding. I will post pictures of the plants in just a few minutes.

Week 10 day 2 Update. These pictures were taken Saturday 6/8 and the plants are in the 71-73 day range.

Blimburn AK Auto - This guys stocky as hell and his main cola is huge. Most of the leaves are still really green. Gave it a feeding 3 days ago and am now basically watering every 3 days. They are real thirsty. I feel this guy has maybe 1-2 weeks left? Will probably cut him on day 90-95.

G13 Diesel Auto Day 72 - The tallest and has the most colas, albeit small. He was the latest to flower and his colas are just filling out. I don't expect them to get too big as it looks sativa heavy. It's really clogging up my tent, part of its pushed up against the wall and the leaves on that side were yellowing.

Dinafem White Widow Auto Day 72 - Another one to late flower, it is also just starting to thicken up. This runt has come along way.

View attachment 2694724View attachment 2694725

WoS Kush Ryder 1 - he isn't as tall as WoS Kush Ryder 2 but he's really stocky. The pistils are starting to orange. I think there's at least 3 weeks left on this guy. I want a nice 30 percent amber 70 percent milky.

WoS Kush Ryder 2 - The taller of the two Kush Ryders, the buds are really developed and it looks like the pistils are starting to recede. I still see plenty clear and no amber yet. Probably another 3 weeks as well.

View attachment 2694738View attachment 2694739View attachment 2694740

and last but not least, with this first grow of autos almost done, i'm looking ahead to grow 2. The autoflowers were planted in 3 gallon smart pots, I decided with my photos (Blue Rhino), I was going to do 6-7 2 gallon pots instead. I had a mother plant that's roughly 8-9 weeks old, have taken several clones off of her already and they're thriving. These guys are under my tek 4 lamp.

My feeds have been consisting of 3/4 gallon of water with 1/4 gallon compost T free from my local hydro filled with 10-15 ml RO Buddha Bloom, 5 ml Buddha Grow, 5 ml GO Cal MAG, 5 ml bud candy(only non-organic material), 10 ml RO trinity.. I might go get some molasses this weekend and introduce that as well. 1 feed, 1 water, 1 feed, 1 water every 3 days.

I'm really not sure when I should stop feeding, so I will continue to feed 2-3 more times over the next 1.5 weeks, then flush last 1.5 weeks.
