ripe beautiful tomatoes here with fake pictures:-) so here are some pics, the new 6 i planted that are a mix of H kush and Mango are growing very fast. I added some cfl's to the veg setup to boost that 2 ft t5 I got over them. 1 of the 3 kush i have in flower is confirmed female and she is awesome, fingers crossed i would really love atleast 1 more to be a lady out of the 3 but we will have to see. Temps are looking way better in the flowering room as you can see, i seemed to spike a tad in humidity but ill keep an eye on it and get a dehumidifier if needed. temp never exceeds 79 during peek of day. They were hitting 88 with the hid.

just wanted to add a little on my first yield, i really dont think its gonna be a knockout. so i havnt made it my main focal, just want to harvest my first buds successfully and learn from the mistakes so i can yield way better in the future. For example, the 6 new plants I have in veg are looking way better than my first bubs did at the comparable time b/c i learned to monitor my ppms LOL. I am rambling just wanted to say I am happy with this process and being reasonable with my expectations;-)

glad I got to see your grow for real bonz. Question though, when i mix my feed in a one gal jug I add my nutes according to the foxfarm chart but my plants never get the full serving of nutes b/c the ppm is to high when i test the mix. For example I added 2tbs of tiger bloom and 2 tbs of molassis yesterday to a gal. when i tested the ppm b/f feeding my bubs, it was like 2000. so i just added it to pure water to get the feed where i needed it in ppm b/f adding it. ? is if i keep doing this then my plants never get the full nutes like the chart suggests. How do people follow the feeding charts and not get nute burn. Sorry i hope you understand what I am trying to ask, lol. just cant seem to get a full serving of molassis or tiger bloom to my plants cause I gotta water it down.

how is the waters ph before the nutes are added. and once you get to good ppm level you canstill go higher if they can handle it. the feeding charts are only a reference to start with. some can take more and some less.but if your water ppm is off in the begining it will be off in the end

yeah i have been in a ppm nightmare with these bubs. the ph in the water is 7.3 in the ro water i use so i add 3 drops of ph down which always brings it to 6.7. but i dont treat the water with ph down until I add nutes of course. I get the ph to 6.7 b/f adding it. Either way I end up mixing a gallon and diluting it with pure ph water to get the ppm around 800 then i feed them. They have been burned the entire grow it fels like. I introduced my 6 plants in veg to 1/4 strength grow big at 6.5 ph and have noticed even at such a amall dose they ended up showing slite burn;-( I thought i did everything right with this group gave them 3 weeks with no nutes. What do you aim for in ppm levels in your feed, b/f you add it? do you even test it before? I would really like to replicate your schedule b/c i have seen your grow and trust in your skill. Maybe i need to try a different nute company...errrr! frustrated because i keep losing the ppm battle and plants can look better than they do ya know. MAYBE I JUST SUCK AT CULTIVATING:-(

thats another reason that i use organic, its hard to burn them. i do test my resivoir of water sometime but mine comes perfect from tap, nice mountain water. but my ppm on my water is 0 and should be. my ph of my water is about 6.3 to 6.7. i only have a liquid ph not very accurate but it does the job. i would just keep it week some cant handle it as well or there may still be nutes in the soil. less is always better. how often do you nute them and how often staight water?

Blinky,
I've been using a new CFL setup for my veg closet and I've noted a difference from HID that I think applies to your tube fluorescents as well. I seem to be getting hotspots that burn the tips of my leaves and look a lot like nute burn. I can be sure it isn't overnute because I am using the same nutes and dosage I did with the mothers of these clones. Plus it only happens on two of six plants. By experimenting with the position of my bulbs I've narrowed it down to the CFLs projecting more intense light and heat in certain spots. I would imagine this would be less dramatic with tubes but you may want to look into it.

thanks for the responses guys, Mared I will look into that but I gotta tell you i experienced a lot of this w the HID. Bonz, my ppm is 0 now too b/c i made the switch to ro water few weeks ago. maybe i will check out more organic techniques;-) whats a good organic combination for flowering/veg I dont know, is it easy to make your own?

I had the same thing. The 42w cfls make enough heat to burn leaves over time but not instantly.

i`m pretty simple. all botanicare pure blend pro veg, bloom, liquid karma, cal-mag, worm castings and batguano tea, sugar in water.
going with organic gives a nice flavour, clean , no need to flush if ya dont want, hard to burn or mess up.
when i use my nutes i first ph the water to what i want, then i add my different nutes and then ph it again. then i check my ec/ppm and its always bang on. the only thing i can think is that a while ago i believe we had a discusion about convertion factor on your ppm and nute selection.( i talk too to many people cant remember who it was) you said yours was set to .7 and i was saying .5 mabee thats why the high ppm readings. as far as iv`e been taught if your in north america it`s set to .5. i tried this test with my sales guy with my calibration solution that had no number and one that was supposed to be set at .7 and we tested every way we could between the two and even though the one said set at .7 it was actualy .5 for us to give an accurate reading. so mabee just try it and see what numbers it says, or mabee a problem with prob or meter itself.

yeah i am really considering organic. My grow shop sells gallons of bat guamo and worm castings. not to mention they carry all of the products you listed above. just funny cause I follow the back of the bottle on servings for tiger bloom per gallon, and by the time I am through adding molassis and big bloom my ppm is at like 2000 in the solution. thats just after following the directions, so i dont understand how people add the strengths recomended on the bottles to their plants and not burn them. i am pretty sure i have one of the most accurate ppm meters on the market so i dunno. Also even with my T5 i cannot get the room under 81, is this acceptable? i mean with the closet door open i can hit the money temp of 77.8 but i cannot keep it open b/c my flowering area will leak light into the grow if i were to forget to close the closet one time, really dont want to risk that. I researched that as long as you dont let the temps stay at or over 85 for long periods your ok, but then other suggestions say 80 is the evil mark now. I even had a lady at my grow shop tell me that i will lose 10% of yield for every point above 80;-( Sorry for the ramble just confused a bit here, not to mention my bud development on the 2 bubs seems to be at a dead halt. I mean they just seem to have stopped development. What could cause this?
