sorry to here. sounds like a serious respiratory infection similar to bronchitus.

if she is having trouble breathing, get a vaporizer. or if your hot water is hot enough for steam hold her over the sink and let her inhale the steam in the bathroom. i just got over bronqitus and the vapor was the best thing to open up my air ways.

also. use an eye dropper to give her water and mix in some quality juice with vitamin c, antioxidants, etc.

she needs lots of nutrient rich water. maybe give her some water from chicken soup/ can of fruit with the eyedropper.

even if she only accepts one drop at a time, she needs it.
take your time.

she can spit out food, but not liquids. focus on feeding her with liquids.

hope she gets better.

I get we all love our pets, but why cause yourself debt over an animal? It doesn't seem smart to lose out on food, rent, or make your life harder when there are already to many animals per person in this world. I love animals. Awesome creatures. But when did become a good idea to spend $1000 on something you can replace, that you can easily become creepily over attached to again? I don't get it. It isn't like the cat is 14 and been around your entire life.

I don't know. Seems idiotic to me to dump money into something like that.

Don't even say something like "What if it your kid? Would you care then?" Of course. It isn't though. Its a cat.

steriod shots DO quiet cats down. that's normal. my cat gets shots for her asthma. just give the shot a couple days to do it's work. along with the antibiotics. but DO call the vet before you bring her in. phone calls cost nothing. make a list of questions before you call. infections can be cured. you'll be ok dude. so will you puddy pat. keep her well hydrated. use eye dops if you have to. good luck. god bless .

Our dog blew out her acl, I think thats it, like humans. Cost $1200.00 or she would of been a cripple. Recently $800.00 to reattach her ear, wife nearly cut off while giving a trim. I was next, said no. Anyway, she's a very loyal, golden retreiver, loves everyone and thing, never has complained, even with ear hanging or trying to walk on 3 legs, was worth the money to fix. True Friends, whether cat or dog, or any animal. Would pay again.

It's not cat flu is it? I lost my burmese to that.
Know what you are saying about loving pets. I have 2 Pythons. I know most people don't like them but they are our babies.

You love animals? doesn't sound like it. the idea of replacing a loved pet, for some, IS like replacing a child. pets have there own individual personalities which are irreplaceable. I've owned several pets in my life and they were all unique in character and thats how i remember them. There is enough cats and dogs being executed everyday in socalled humane ways. It was a great deed the op did when he essentialy saved the cat from certain death either from nature or most likely by humans.

If it was me, my life would be harder knowing i could've spent a week or twos wages to save this cat and instead i decided to let it die a slow painfull death.

To me $1000 is more easily replaced than my little meowzer

I get what you're saying and the simple solution is not that you can replace them but people who aren't prepared for have pets is simply think about the long term affects and do not get one.

Also, I don't think you truley love animals lol, they're family but it doesn't sound like you rank them as that.

she died , she became so ill , she was bleeding out of her nose and both ears and into her stomach , she was anemic , the vets had never seen anything like it . blood tests revealed nothing abnormal , there last 'guess' was that she had a parasite in her blood that was preventing it from clotting , they couldnt put her to sleep to do any kind of surgery because she was so weak , they were trying to put a huge needle in her vain and she was so distressed i told them to stop . her eyes were glazed over white so i said enough was enough . i kind of have guilty second thoughts now , but i know shes not suffering anymore , i hope i did the right thing , i feel the vets would of prolonged it , raping as much money out of me as possible , i know its only a cat to most people but ya know , i was close to her , she had a great personality and we had a great understanding of each other , she was very clever. i keep expecting her to be here next to me , very sad .

Understand your feelings and pain.
You know, what has to be done. Which is more painful, letting your pet go or letting the poor thing suffer?

its just when that decision is put solely on you , although deep down you know you stopped the suffering , you cant help wondering if you did the right thing or should you have carried on , till the very last breath .

Sorry, right decision, suffering done. Even harder at times is getting over the loss. Everyone different, myself with our previous dog, a month for me. Took 2 years, but have another. Old Pooch, never forgotten, still have her ashes, wife and me want her buried with us. Hopefully the inner healing is fast, there's another friend waiting out there. Again, sorry for your loss.

the fact that the decision is laying heavily on your conscious tells me it was the right one.. if it hadn't bothered you, i'd question it more honestly. you're a good dude, shit happens, it sucks, but it is life m8.. things usually get better..

Sorry to hear that hopefully they can help your cat. Last year my moms cat was dying and my parents took him in and they gave him some shots and he got better for a few days but then he got worse and we had to put him down.
Edit: just red that your cat died sorry to hear that man.

Sorry to hear about your loss man. I live in the country and I've lost many animals. I hate having to do it but racerboy is right if you didn't feel bad about it then I would wonder about your conscious because I hate having to lose an animal. I love them so much!
