First off, you shouldn't bundle all Christians together, anymore than we should bundle all homosexuals together. You are guilty of doing the same thing to others that you resent being applied to you.

Not all Christians believe that abortion should be illegal, I don't. It is a decision that only a woman should make. Not all Christians are right-wingers.

It is obvious that you do not live near any real Muslim community like I do. All of what you listed is out of reach for Muslim women and if they should go outside and practice their civil rights they are condemned to death.

And yes, you need to worry. Ask all the people who survived in NYC, London, etc. It's only a matter of time. I live near them, I've seen their eyes gleam when they talk about towers falling. And you, my friend, will be among the first to go.

Which Shariah law? Like the one trying to be introduced in Mississippi that would deny women the right to an abortion regardless of the circumstance? If a woman is raped, too bad. If she is the victim of incest, so fucking what. If her life is in danger, tough luck. Not to mention that in vitro fertilization will be against the law. Birth control methods would be outlawed as well. Or how about the abortion and anti-gay laws being implemented throughout the country? We have more to worry about from Christian fundamentalists than we ever will with Muslims.

What gives you that idea? I mean, just because they expressly want to kill every fucking creature on the planet that does not hold the exact same beliefs as they individually do doesn't mean they are bad, right? I think they killed over a million Christians last year, and I'm talking mostly torture, slow, painful deaths. Muslims killed 3,000,000 of their own countrymen, women and children by hacking them to death with machetes. Not even members of their own immediate family are safe; they kill their wives, and children just for their stupid religion.

If they follow the Qur'an, they are all the same. The Qur'an demands they kill non-Muslims.

the Bible demands any woman who raises her voice to her husband to be punished via lashings... that mean every christian who argues with his wife lashes her every week???

and in parts of africa, where christianity is taken to extremes, they do kill homosexuals in the name of Jesus Christ.

christian extremists.....muslim extremists... all make religion look bad, when you consider the vast majority of religious people are MODERATE.....

Yeah, but since the crusades there has never been a group like this. Seriously, they are wack-o.
It doesn't matter, the fact is religion, all of the religions I've studied in any depth, breed hate and prejudice and cause divisions among deffering groups of people.

Everyone tends to judge all by the most extreme. Padawan and Red pointed out extremes; UB is just a clueless dickhead. In my book, religion sucks but I don't throw everyone under the bus just because of their beliefs. I've read the Bible, cover to cover and I don't remember anything like a woman being beaten because she raised her voice; that does not sound like it's legit. If you can give the reference that would be great. Some of the finest people I've ever known are believers and they are nothing like the religious wack-o's you guys keep throwing up as if all are like that.

Using the people in this thread as an example, the religious ones, or religious leaning ones, tend to hate or fear Muslims, contrast that with the non religious leaning posters, not afraid or hold no feelings of hate towards people - keep in mind they are human beings too - we've never met just because they believe something different.

I would think that would tell you guys something..

These are the scriptures that get misinterpreted to mean it's o.k. to beat your wife:

Ephesians 5:22-24
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

Colossians 3:18
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.

1 Timothy 2:11-15
Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing.

1 Peter 3:1
Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands

And if you don't believe these verses are being misinterpreted then read some of the threads in this forum:
