multiple tents in one room (light leaks)

Hey Guys,
Tried doing a few searches and couldn't find much. If i have one big sealed room with 2 tents (one veg + one flower), the plan would be that both tents could feed off of the same environment (A/C + Dehumidifier). To do this I would have to leave the vent flaps open at the bottom of each tent (for intake air from sealed room), how would i prevent light getting into the flower tent from the veg tent vent flaps?

You'll be fine with a little light leak. Outdoor growers get light leaks from all sorts of places and still manage a good harvest
Ok, was just seeing if I needed to figure out how to make some sort of light trap or maybe if I should open the vent flaps on opposite sides so the light is pointed to opposite sides of the room..
Thanks for reply.

To make a light proof intake you can use a length of flexible 6' duct passed through the bottom intake holes and bent into an upside down "U".

Then use black nylon stockings or black foam or something dark and that air can pass through over each end.

With the open ends close to the floor you will get cooler intake air and no light should pass with a couple of pieces of black filter foam over the ends.

I also taped a "flap" of tape to cover the zippers on the inside all round and any pinpoint light leaks were taped over.

Light in flower can cause re veg. It can also cause stress and hermies if the plants are sensitive to that.

I had 2 tents in the spare bedroom in my old house. Worked just as you plan. I made a window stealth board with an exhaust for the summer and sent the hot air into the house for some heat in winter.

Found a pic fer ya

I used 7" semi flexible duct here with the replacement a/c filter foam. 2 layers per end is pitch black inside.

I ran 18 hour veg tent in same room and did not want light leaks.

A little leak in veg never seemed to matter though. I have seen them leaning in the direction of a bad leak though.

Here's my setup. 3x3 600w hps flower tent, 3x2x3 veg tent with T5's.
The flower tent has 3 passive intakes: the two on top of the flower tent and one that exhausts the veg tent. This is in the bedroom of my condo. I've been able to keep my temps pretty consistent.
I had pretty much the same. The 4x4 secret Jardin and the 3x2x3 propogator with t-5.

I upgraded veg to more tubes in a 3x3 soon after and now use both. The propogator for clones and seedlings and the 3x3 for veg.

Nice clean bedroom kinda setup there you got!

Thanks guys there's some great ideas in here. I only really need to worry about light leaks from my veg tent so I probably won't even bother doing anything on my flower tent. But for the veg tent I think I will just make a light trap out of card board and tape it to the vents on the bottom of the tent.

Something similar to this image.

@MichiganMedGrower im definitely going to use that idea for the tape flap for the zippers haha. Good one.

I forgot to mention I use gorilla tape.

That zig zig cardboard wouldnt allow crap for intake airflow.

I found a great way to block light leaks for fairly cheap and no obtrusive crap and ducts need to come off vents.

You can probly buy these filters cheaper if you know where they sell em wholesale, but depot was only $5, I went to home depot and bought a handful of filter replacements for your standard overhead stove range (air extractor for smoke and smells while your cooking) The fllters have 2 middle layers of black filter cloth and those sandwiched by layers of aluminum mesh material that is sturdy.

They come in sheets are various sizes for whatever stove you have, obviously you dont care about that but gives you options depending how big your tent flap recatangles are. I bought the 12" X 12" size since my intakes are 11X3 . I simply cut the filters into (3) 12" X 4" strips just bigger than my vents, it cuts easily with good scissors.

And attaching them is easy with these simple pins you get at the dollar store or any craft store for $2 for about 15. Simply put your filter in place where you want it over the tents mesh intake, push the pin through your filter and tent mesh, and snap the backer on the pin from inside the tent, secures it tight to the mesh. I did 6 of them per filter

edit - tried finding a picture of the pins but dont know what there called exactly, instead of a flag being on one side, the craft stores sell em with plane silver circles, with the backer pin the same as shown in this pic, to give you an idea what youre looking for

No light leaks, no ugly, flows plenty of air, fairly low cost, and I actually think the black sheets may be some sort of odour control like activiated carbon although its been so long I dont remember if the packaging said that

Nice, that's a great idea. Will probably go that route. Maybe I'll use safety pins or something but yea same basic principle.

If it is a carbon filter which I think it probably is from looking at the picture then that is a great added benefit for extra smell filtration.
