I had a kind of weird idea, I might have to diagram it to make sense of it, but here goes:
If I top a plant, then put root gel/powder what have you, on the top part, and bend it over and stick it in the dirt, would it grow roots? Obviously I'm gonna take more care in doing this than just chop, gel and push into dirt. I was thinking that, because on my trumpet vine, I can literally smash the vines into the ground, and then a few days later they take root and grow like a bridge from the main part, then the part in the ground gets roots, then the part that is still sticking out grows big. I would think that having 2 root systems would mean the middle part would get very nutrient fed, and would grow big, and since the whole plant was horizontal, I would think the branches would get massive. I will be trying something like this next OD season, but I was wondering if anyone else had tried something like that or if it was even a good idea.
