Multiple issues, from start to Now. Please help

Ok so first things firts. I was on vacation and my roomate decided to germ my seeds when they arrived. He did an awesome job out of 15 seeds all popped! Good sign right... Then he planted them in Organic soil, with NO nutes, and perlite. Here is where the problems start
1) he DIDNT moisten the soil, he just watered it after planting, then he turned on my 1000w lamp. I arrived home the next day to see the soil was bone dry and my grow room was 88 degrees. Needles to say most plants died.
I was able to save three of my plants by uplifting them and replanting in new moist soil, and getting my room temp to an even 77 degrees.
The picture i included is my strongest plant at one week old. The tips of the leaves are turning a tiny bit yellow. I water once every two days because thats when my soil get dry to about 5 inches down. The plants are in 3 gallon pots. Here are my quetions

Has the plants growth been stunted due to looking so small at a week old?

Why are the tips turning yellow, again im not using nutes and i feel that watering is ok, but could i still be overwatering?
Also my light is still 2 and a half feet away from my plants, I can NOT feel any heat on my plants at all. But at this point i dont want it any closer im trying to be safer than sorry

Any help is much appreciated!

1st of all 1000w is way to much for young sprouts. the yellow leaves is prbly being burnt from the 1000w. and yes ther prbly stunted due to that fact. also young sprouts do not need that much water. u really wanna w8 till the soil is prtty dry but not completely so the roots go down searching for water to build a strong root system.

So even if no heat is getting to the plant, it can still burn the leaves? My other two plants do not have any yellowing of the tips. What should i do to fix the issue if its too much light? Ill attach a picture of my setup also.

Also will the plants grow strong still or should i just trash them and start over?

LMAO, yeaaaa. Im ordering new seeds today. I guess ill try and let these three grow and see what happens with them, but with the germ rate of the seeds id say within a few weeks i should have another 12 to 15 going. GFG you think the 1000w is too much for sprouts even if its literally at 8 feet from the plants? Ill buy some CFL's if need be, but ive heard two opinions that 1000w is fine if its far enough away and now im hearing its too much? I always thought more light equals more growth?

First off growing stunted plants is a waste if you can get new ones established in a week or so. You will be disappointed by the slow growth. It takes a long time for young plant to regain their vigor.

Now as far as using a 1000 watt light at 8 feet that is ridiculous. It is a complete waste of electricity. Go buy 2 23 watt CFL's. Now plants with a light spectrum deep in the blue will grow shorter internodes and more leaf mass. We want this alright...it's the framework that the buds will be made on. So when you buy your bulbs try to get as close to 6500k (Kelvin Temp aka Color temp 6500 blue for veg 2700 red for flowering) The CFL's labeled daylight will be at a 6400K. Try to get those if you can. Otherwise settle for the Cool Whites @ 4100K and lastly the Warm Whites are 2700k

As far as the 1000 watt HPS at 8 feet... Light intensity is the inverse of its square, aight? So at 8 feet a 120,000 lumen light will produce 120,000/8^2....120,000/64 = 1,875 lumens. Which is the equivalent of the 24 watt CFL's I have hahaha. A joke man...

Maybe you should check out my grow I'm very early in but because I was so busy a lot of problems occurred from neglect. A lot of problems that you can probably learn from. Some interesting stuff that will help you out later.

Ok the 8 feet was an exxageration lol. I can have the light as close to 20 inches from my plants with no heat issues. So if thats possible should i just use that or get the CFLs? The guy that set me up in the grow shop said to use this, but if its not going to produce correct growth ill use cfls. I have my light 20 inches from my plants and there is no heat reaching the plant. im trashing hese plants tonight too btw, so this is in reference to my next attempt.
