Hey guys thanks for stopping by.

This journal is going to chronicle the build of my new grow room, building a no till raised bed and then grow notill.

Work to be done includes taking down a wall between my room to make it ten by ten, drill through the brick to install intake and exhaust vents for me vented hoods. Move lights and redo venting in room. Build a 5x8 raised bed to go under my 2 1000w lights. Mix dirt then get rolling. Raised bed design is going to be like this. ( can't post the link so you'll have to wait and see)

My soil and method is going to be mostly the program described on buildasoil.
I have blue dream and critical kush cuts waiting for this to be ready next week. Let's get started.

So this afternoon I got the new vents installed. One is missing but hole is ready. The ducting and light moving and wall removal will come tomorrow

Got the wall torn out, lights reoriented, and some of the ducting done. Tomorrow is finish the ducting and build the raised bed. Raised bed is going to be 4 ft by 9 ft. I will have a 2 ft area to access both sides of the raised bed.

Comments and suggestions are welcomed

Think I'll pull a chair up.

I've been tossing around the idea of going organic, I just don't have anywhere to mix soil. I just know I can do better than promix with extra perlite.

Do you have a veg space as well?

So the dirt. 12 cf was Reamended dirt that was previously used. 1/3 peat, perlite and compost. It was originally made with Gaia green fertilizer and top dressed with carbonatite and more Gaia green bloom and general perpous.
24 cf made from 6cf peat, 2 cf coco coir, 8 cf rice hulls, 4 cf sheep manure compost and 4 cf leaf compost.
For every cubic foot (cf) of soil got:
1/2 cup kelp meal
1/2 cup crab meal
1/2 cup neam cake
1c gypsum
1c oyster shell flour
3c of various rock dusts
(Equal parts basalt, azomite, Adamite, wollastonite)

The plan now it to water it nicely, plant a cover crop, top dress with organic matter and plant 24 clones in on Monday to veg.

I plan to alternate malted barley teas with sprouted corn teas with worm compost , kelp meal, neam meal, silicate and fulvic acid.

I have lots of nettles, yarrow and some comfrey to top dress with as well as a worm bin to add worms and eggs to the newly made beds.

I'll try to get a pic of the clones tonight. They don't look that nice as a lot of the leaves dried off real quick.
I also have 2 candida plants started. 10-20%cbd and less than 1%thc. They won't be ready until next cycle but I'm excited about these plants.

That's exactly why I am growing them. I have a family member that can't stand being high so I am hopeful it can provide pain relief without her seeing bats and devils and shit that she reports now...

So the bed got fed a malted barley and worm castings tea multi species cover crop seeded in and covered with hay. Clones are planted. The clones look like shit but all have good root systems. Each of the clones was dusted with mycorrhizae before going in.

Clones have been slow to take off. This was expected with the way they looked going in. The cover crop is coming in nicely. Most of the growth is buckwheat coming up and the grass looking stuff is oats. Both are very fast growers. All the growth has been cut back from the clones in there. This is 6 days.
Compost tea was given on wednesday and Friday. Just worm compost and sprouted barley.
Tomorrow they will get a worm compost and sprouted corn tea with neem and kelp flour

A little over 2 weeks in veg. They were topped a couple days ago. Cutting the grass is about the hardest part right now. I might smother the oats and plant slower growing clover now. I really wanted to get some fast growing plants started to get some structure to the newly made soil.

IMG_0927.JPG IMG_0928.JPG IMG_0929.JPG One more week will be 4 weeks veg. Likely longer than that till they are big enough. I've been LST and supercropping where needed. Removing leaves here and there to get light to grow tips for more branching. I want the canopy full and wider than the bed. I have 9ft of width in the room and the bed is 4 ft wide so there's lots of space. I was hoping to have this grow done before march 1st. Not looking likely as the ck has taken between 70 and 77 days to finish in the past.
Over the weekend I am going to take cuttings from the two candida plants so i can flower them at the same time as the main bed. The candida is supposed to be 10-20% cbd and less than .25% thc. I am very stoked to try that out.

Today is 2 weeks into flower. Things are loooking good. Buds are forming nicely. I have been slowly trimming away the under growth from the plants a bit at a time. One problem I am having is my vented hoods draw air from the outside and it has been very cold (-20 c) and there is frost on the first 6” of the glass tube and the plants at that end are noticeably smaller from lack of light. Any suggestion to fix this issue?
