Damn, 1200 a month isnt bad at all.. I appreciate the response and info hom3.. So the overall consensus so far is that there are cheaper parts but there isn't much work available to sustain.. What about areas like Colorado or Canada or anything similar, anyone have any input about those areas?

What up RIU community, I know a lot of you hail from Cali or live there currently. I live in Georgia, over here on the east coast if your not familiar with a map  and was wondering how different things are over there? I would like to move there and be safe from the pirates(U.S. Government) sinking my ship but everyone tells me its too expensive blah this blah that, so I figured I'd ask here and see what yalls input is. Is it worth it? Is it something a college student could reasonably do? If it isn't then where is, and I am looking for an area that has a college and a reasonable cost of living.. I would appreciate as much advice as I can get to help me get out of this politically backwards ass region!! And Canada is an option if anyone has any good input on that one.

Cali is the best place to live in the whole usa IMO. I just love it here. The weather, the girls, the beach, BBQ's, sea breeze, marijuana is legal, and you said you were going to college so if you like girls and love partying then cali is the place to be. Shit get yourself a reccomendation and buy your buds at stores and grow legal. If you don't mind diversity than come on over and see for yourself. I am proud to say that I am a Californian. :peace:

Again thanks for all the info, and yes terrorizer I do like ALL of those things and that is kind of my ideal California or living environment haha.. Do you Californians think it would be hard to goto school and work enough to maintain considering I will have reasonable backing from the parentals?

Look up pittsburg CA. My friends just got a nice little 50s house 3 bedrooms for a grand a month.

edit: if you decide to move there move to the north part....unless you can hold your own.

Haha, I can hold my own but I would be making the decision to make this move and would definitley opt to not have to deal with that.. You know if there is a school in pittsburg or reasonably close?

The thing is, NorCal is cheap but also has no jobs what so ever. Except for the usual minimum wage U-Haul, K Mart, Gas Station, etc. Everyone grows pot for their money lol.

But yeah you can get lucky and you may have a skill that is needed out there for work... whatever that may be... maybe an AA counselor

... or teach Drinking 101. :eyesmoke:

Yeah, Nice had a cheap house that had its own dock on the lake. Was like, 3 bed something for $73,000.
3 bedrooms for 73k, WTF! I should move to cali, Whats the rate for a J-man service plumber down there?
