k I have 9 that are 5ft + 2 are 7+
moving the ladies about 7 houses down so distance is nothing

of the 9,
6 are in full flower and have some weight... to the buds.. I am planning on using a large bed sheet as a wrap

should I just tie em up and pray or what are you suggesting?

my real plan at this point is load them in a pickup bed say 4 at a time and haul em down there.

I am doing the move about 10pm and will not water the day of the move to lighten the load..

I was also thinking of using twine and just doing a real through wrap but felt twine would be too thin

damn I am stressing and need to smoke.. I know I know..

i wouldnt cover them with nothing, just load them in back of a Truck or U-haul and call it a day.

I take plants home from the nursery just leaning them over in the bed of the pick up and using a tarp; weighting the tarp down.

i would do it a bit later at night...
i wouldn't wrap them...i might use some bamboo poles to brace them...
do one first..see how it handles the move
then do the rest....

I agree, just get the small size u-haul as long as it is tall enough, and you won't even have to lay them down, and nobody will see them waving as they parade down the street..
You'll have the truck for the whole 24 hrs, so it may even end up being easier to move your bigger stuff like dressers and beds.

uhaul is not being used as much as I'd like... truck bed and trailer are how they are going.. it's not far and I guess I am more concerened about folks wanting what I have rather then seeing it..

will take photos either way.. lol

If you know somebody with an Expedition, or an E150, that should be long enough you could fit them inside. If you did it in the truck bed, just wrap the soil so it doesn't fall out when you tip the pot, (and only 7 houses down the street?) just do it after dark, and have a couple bodies ride back there and support the stem at top and bottom.
If you're really set on wrapping it, go to a dry cleaner and get some of the plastic sleeves that they use to cover clean dresses with.

Yes, I forgot to mention. Wrap the whole pot in a plastic shopping bag or garbage bag and tie the top to hold the soil. Then lay them down or lean them down (on a bag of potting soil or spare tire. I have fit quite a lot of nursery trees like that and transported safely. Some about 10' (with pot) were laid diagonally.
