ok so i was growing my plant with window light but i live in the northwest it was fine durring summer but now that its winter my plants is flowering but it has very slow growth so i moved it from window to light bulb but i just used an average table lamp with a light bulb thats long and skinny and i dont have the box anymore so i dont know what kind of light bulb it is

TLDR my question is can an average light harm a plant? but if not switching from sparse window light to a bulb what hours should i be doing should i go into 12/12 off or should i give it less light to start and move up or blast it with extra light to make up for its stunted growth 16/8?

first grow so dont hate too hard and im poor or i would go buy pro shit once i get my paycheck im going to get the cheapest lights all the newbie threads say but that could be a week or so away

Keep it in the sun for as long as you can.
Light it up inside after it gets dark, and make sure it's getting AT Least 18hrs of light per day. When you get your paycheck, buy the book: Buds for Less - "Grow 8oz. of bud for less than $100" written by: SeeMoreBuds

a regular light bulb gives off the wrong color of the light spectrum for marijuana growth. if you can get a few cheap cfls that would be much better. as to how strong or how many you need i do not know but what i do know is you can have the cfls on for 24hrs a day which is much better than 16/8.

when you hit them with this much light they will shock a little and stop growing since they have to revert from the flowering stage, but they should go back into veg with the longer light cycle. the only reason people have 16/8 or 18/6 light cycles is for HPS or MH lights because they get really hot and tend to dry out the soil too fast and this isnt good for them especially younger plants.

make sure you use your clfs very efficiently ie. put up some reflective mylar in your grow room or make a 3 sided wall out of cardboard around your grow and put something white or reflective on it. This is important to using to most of your light inside of letting it get away which for you is important since you cant afford any stronger lights at the time being
