Mothers in Hydro

What is my best option for mothers, should I go hydro with them (everything else is hydro, ebb and flow for veg and DWC for flower) but this will be my first mother and not sure if I should go soil or hydro. If hydro what type of set up is optimal. Thanks.

I like soil moms over hydro moms as soil is much easier to work with for this purpose and
growth rate on soil isn't too fast creating monsters in weeks. You can use bonsai techniques
on soil moms as well and I've heard of people having soil moms up to years in moderate sized
containers.

All the rest of my grow is hydro :)

Put your moms on Soil its better that way try to keep it organic grown using a soil like happy frog or ocean forest with very little nutes maybe some simple organic fertilizer to keep the plant lush something like Iguana Juice by Advanced Nutrients that way when you cut clones they will root better..

i had both. room flooded (not due to the grow happening) and I had to do a quick shutdown and cleanup. Dirt moms are still alive. hydro moms are not looking good sitting on my bathroom floor at home. Good thing I kept those 8 originals in dirt.
go on vaca and the power goes out and you lose your entire strain line. dirt they just limp along forever.

I do the same. Hydroponics is too fast growing for mothers.
