Most effecient use of power

:leaf:Okay guys, I have 1 KW of electricity a day to work with for lights and a maximum of 10'x11' area. I've been racking my brain as to what the most efficient method would be - though i'm swaying highly towards LEDs/Aeroponics at the moment:leaf:

What is the best yield I can achieve with this power restriction?
What system will give me this yield?

I'm growing White Russian by serious seeds. Any help would be appreciated.

Two 400's on light rails over ebb/flow scrogs

yield will depend on allot of things. 2lbs? If your asking these questions your likely not prepared to manage an aero setup

400 what? hps? cfl? led? that wasn't very helpful. i'm aware that yield will depend on more than just light.

let me be more specific - i'm currently trying to evaluate if I use, say 900-1100 watts of LEDS with 6-10 different different lights (depending on the brand/individual light wattage) and possibly a few CFLs - what's the appropriate amount of space (of which I said I have up to 10'x11') I could use this much light for while maintaining a strong yield?

If that wasn't helpful , thats because you need to do some more reading and research . Just so you will understand the advice people are trying to give .

He meant 400 HPS. Of course you wanted him to be specific, but people often aren't on this site. Are you going to try to have a perpetual grow? Where/how big is the clone/vegg room going to be? Is heat going to be an issue? I'm running a 300w LED right now and its great for vegg. Probably better than t5's, and it produces no heat. I haven't tried it for flowering, but I will soon enough. Also if your new to growing areoponics is probably not the best option. Sometimes the simplest way to grow is the most efficient. Keep that in mind. As far is best system for best yield, good luck:weed:

I would say a 1000w on a light rail.

Acidbox-Thats a cool diagram! +rep

Led's are too expensive and not worth.

If you only have a 1000 watts to burn i would say a 600 watt hps as it is the most efficient hid light also you will need a few watts left for fans water pumps if ya go that way and other unforseen crap!

Thank you for the reply.

I do want to try to have a perpetual grow going. The maximum size of the entire grow chamber can't exceed 12ft x 16ft. Heat is an issue in the sense that electricity is an issue. If I create more heat I will have to use more power to remove it.

What brand of LED lights are you using?

I've heard many arguments for and against them.

How much did you pay for them? Was it worth the money?

go vertical

Thanks for the reply.
I don't think space is going to be my limiting factor in this grow. I have a 12 x 16ft area to work with, and I know I can't realistically fill all of that with only 1kw of lights.

Is saving space the only advantage to this setup, or is it more efficient in other ways as well? Can you please point me to a well executed example of the circular vertical grow?

The brand is HTG Supply. The price was 650 plus shipping. I plan on getting more of them, but am waiting for the moment. The one drawback that I can see right now is that the main penetrating light only reaches about a 3.5x3.5' footprint. However, i raised the light the other day because I have too many plants and need to cover more area, and the plants seem to be growing at about the same rate(fast). The area it is covering now is about 4.5'x4.5'. However, I don't think that Im gonna be able to flower any more than 4-5 medium size plants at a time with this light. I do plan on buying more of these lights when funds allow me to do so (if it works well for flowering). Maybe even mixing hps and LED spectrums.
Hope that helped:eyesmoke:
