Mosquito dunks?

I have a small gnat problem. My girls are 3 1/2 weeks old and range from 7" to 4" w/ anywhere b/w 4 - 6 nodes a per plant. I went to lowes and bought some mosquito dunks. Has anyone ever used these? I'm just going to fill up a 2 gal bucket of water and put one tablet in. I'll add this water to my watering cycle. If I use two gal to water my plants, I'll use 1 gal water from the dunked water bucket. Also, is it safe to spray on to my plant leaves? Any help?

Mosquito dunks work well for maintanance when they are in water that floods your medium. They will not quickly clear an infestation. You may want to check out SM90 and there has been another one mention Diatamace..?? Earth for soil grows. The problem with fungus knats is the damage the larvae do to the root zone. Mosquito dunks are safe enough your pets can drink the water they are in. Just not as effective for this application. VV

yea dont spray it...i crushed up the ones i used and mixed it in my resivior every few days an it seem to kill the larve in the growing medium...get those yellow strips called hot shots an hang them around ur plants it will kill the flyin gnats becuse the dunks jus kill the babies an start foliar sprayin every other week or so when ur lights r off..
