There's a ton of actually, credible information on why NOT to withhold nutrients. You just need the will to look. Unfortunately with the huge boost in new growers on the seen, everyone is an expert, and is taking the first wrong info as fact and building off it. I suggest all cannabis growers, first, look into cross reference all info learned by what non-cannabis growers use (that's not to be confused with some cannabis growers knowing what theyre doing). This will give you a good baseine on what's real and true, and what not.

It's actually turning into a kinda pet peeve on the mis-use of the term "Flushing". Please feel free to politely correct newer growers mis-using the term.

Wow! Scientific data and study's on cannabis change almost daily.lol.and there are always conflicting reports so to say what's right or wrong is pointless
But reading this thread is rather entertaining to me. Imho.. LmAobongsmilie

This info I posted is NOT new. Infact, is very old, and is not species specific. Cannabis is no different from any other fruiting plant. Mis-information is new, there's just a ton of people pushing it. ...everybody seems to be an expert in pseudoscience...

Agreed.

Blueberry, 53 days into flowering. Trichomes are all milky. Should I chop? No!

This thing is on flush for 4 days. I think flushing also prevents plants from premature end to flowering and allows the buds to fill out pretty nicely. This is specially an issue for me, because I'm using double side lighting (HPS + MH) and my plants usually take up a lot of nutes and finish a week earlier. If I use heavy feeding schedules on them, I only kill quality here, no matter what brand of chemical nutrients I'm using. But like I said earlier, organic is different. I have some bottles of Kyle Kushman's Vegamatrix and I want to try next round in coco.

These are Critical Kush, 63 days into flowering (with 10 days of flush ). Trichomes are 90% milky & cloudy and 10% amber. Should I chop? No!

This is exactly why trichomes are misleading. They act differently in some plants. With some strains it's easy to past the harvest window and not get much amber.

Wait,to get what you're saying....

You're saying, because you flush (i.e. Clean Your Soil), your trichomes become more amber in this plant?

You're also saying, because you withhold nutrients for 4 days, effectively starving your soil, your plants become more full?

"or"

Youre saying, that you run upto 3 times (×3) the normal amount of un-nutrient-enriched (just water), threw your soil, to clean it,

"then"

feeding the regular recommended nutrients to your plants, and repeatin the process for 4 days in a row, your plants become more full?

...very confusing.

Love your name. Wish I thought of that one. I agree that does sound confusing. I make a lot of mistakes. I'm trying super hard to not make more. I am seeing information that doesn't make sense as well. Making things a bit difficult. So I don't know eithier.

Contrary to pseudoscience belief, leaves don't store nutrients, roots do. Leaves are like small factories... when defoliation occurs, your effectively removing the ability for the plant to grow.

Here's another video of real science, for your pleasure.. just ignore to over-use of the word "basically".

I acquired this user name a long time ago, after I got married.. I just kept it to remind myself not to repeat history, after the divorce.

 No. I was discussing two different subjects.
effectively starving your soil
I don't even know what you mean by "starving the soil", but I'm pretty sure you're trying way too much to be "scientific" and that's cute. ;-)

I don't know how you made that up. I didn't say that.

What the heck are you talking about, trying to be scientific? If you don't want to answer, just say it, don't hide behind mockery.

You said,

Isnt that saying, because you flush (i.e. Clean Your Soil), your trichomes become more amber in this plant or more of them? Or did to mean grow more (bigger).

"Or"

Youre saying that you clean your soil by flushing, and then, continue feeding as normal?

No one here can tell what you're saying?
I simply asked you to clarify.

You also said,
I'm using double side lighting (HPS + MH) and my plants usually take up a lot of nutes and finish a week earlier.
To imply, because "more light' is used, the biological clock in your plant speed up? I find this interesting. Kinda like the movie "My Cousin Vinny", where grits cook faster on your stove.

Plants don't have mouths, they have roots. In soil grows, roots search out nutrients within the soil, and through transpiration, uptake the nutrients. When pouring nutrient enriched water on the soil, you're not feeding the plant, per se, your feeding the soil. And thank you, my mommy calls me cute, constantly.
