Now I have a couple of autoflowers that where growing outside at 55’ North. Got chilly and cloudy so brought them inside to a 600w hps 2ft away.
What I noticed is the yellowing and a calcium deficiency on one, progressed really quickly. It was already a little deficient in N.
So weather got better. Fed and outside. Yellowing basically stopped and all is well.
Bring them indoors all of yesterday and the yellowing has increased again.
Now this makes me wonder.
Does the extra intense light cause more evaporation therefore leading to the plant to need more minerals to sustain the plant tissue? So once there’s a green leaf that green leaf still needs Npk etc to sustain itself? Otherwise it’s gonna be eaten. By itself?
Another thing I’m wondering is to yellow on purpose around the last week of flower. Here me out.
In that last week it’s still swelling therefore it needs food. But if you don’t feed the plant the plant is still going to get the nutrients to form the buds - it just takes it from itself.
The only thing you are losing is photosynthesis power. But in the last week it’s not nearly as important as in veg/early flower. By this time the plant has stored loads of energy.
Even if you give your plants 3 days of darkness it will still grow.
I’m intrigued to see if I can taste it in the end results of this plant.
Week 9 Durban auto.
