Moonshine Mans Supersoil for outdoors

I'm fairly new to growing, I've grown around 6 plants indoors with basic soil and nutes. Not really experienced grower nor did the plants produce worth anything. I stopped growing b/c of the difficulty but after a couple years decided to begin again. I've read up on making my own supersoil so I wouldnt have to really worry about adding nutrients throughout the grow--I feel this way would be best suited for me doing all the work up front versus trying to figure out nute schedules (which is how I screwed half my other ones up).

I'm in a hurry and don't have the time to do the SubCool's supersoils 'cook' method and found another method which is the Moonshine Mans supersoil method. Does anyone have experience with this method as for 1 its cheaper than Subcools and 2 less time restricting from what I'm gathering. The method involves
1bag of FoxFarms Light Warrior
--1bag FoxFarm Original planting Mix
--1 bag FoxFarm Ocean Forest
--1cup Happy Frog Fruit and Flower
--and 8qts Perlite
--I will probably also use HappyFrogs potting mix as the base

I will be growing outdoors in about 3-4 five gallon pots and around 5 three gallon pots. I have all Auto-flowering Fem strains..I don't want to worry with nutes, adjusting PH is fine with me if necessary so will this work for me if anyone has used this method? Thanks for any input

Works just fine from what I've seen and heard, probably more expensive than super soil by the cubic foot but it will do what you want.

Don't take this the wrong way though, but don't get yourself in a hurry. You make a lot more mistakes when you get in a hurry, and this is true with anything. I'm not sure why you're in a hurry and what your time frame is and that's not exactly any of my business, just use what little time you have until you start growing to do as much research as you possibly can. Moonshine's mix should sit in the pots for about a week or so to get the microbes going, so that gives you a week to plan and research as much as you possibly can.

I'm not trying to be an asshole when I say this, just speaking from experience. From what I hear, Moonshine's mix is better than Sub's soil however I only have experience using Sub's recipe myself with good results.

If you're starting with clones or seedlings, definitely get a base mix going for the top half of your pot so you don't shock them with all the nutes in the soil. FFOF is much hotter than Happy Frog and could cause problems if your plants aren't big enough to handle all the nutes in it. Use the moonshine mix for the bottom half of your pots, and a base mix of 1 bag Light Warrior and 1 bag Happy Frog for the top half of the pots. I believe the two bags combined will make 3 cuft of soil, so mix that with 2-3 cuft of perlite. Then once the plants start to grow more into the pots and are in need of more nutes you simply make more of the moonshine mix and top dress the pots every month, give or take. Doing it this way will cause your plants less stress which will make you much happier come harvest.

Thanks for the input and not sounding like an ass at all. I've been researching quite a lot from my last grows bc this one actually costs me money to start with so I want to maximize the plant to the fullest. I figure I'd do everything up front so I could relax a little and watch the plant grow until I get skilled enough to branch out.

How much top dressng would you suggest? Like 1 gallon top and 2 gallon moonshine in a 3 Gallon bucket. And maybe 2 gallon top dressing with 3 gallon moonshine in a 5 gallon bucket?

Well, if you're growing outdoors always go with a larger pot.. the largest that space and money allows for.

As for the base mix on top and MM mix on bottom, just do it the same way you'd do sub's soil. 3g would be 1 gallon base mix, 1 gallon base+MM mix, 1 gallon MM mix. You want to ease the plant into the nutes as it begins to grow down further into your pot, if you use pure MM mix you run the risk of nute burn.

What I meant by top dressing the plants was putting more soil on the top layer of soil after a month or two when the plants have started to grow and could use the extra nutrients. You'll still end up with 3g of Moonshine's Mix total, it will just be over a period of time so that you avoid burning your girls.
