Monster cropping....would I be crazy to try cloning from this lady 8wks flower

My question is essentially in the title. Gorilla Bubba (happy seed find in a bag of nice herb) about to start 8th or 9th week in flower. I know you’re typically looking for the 21day to 4 or 5 week range, but I’ve been so impressed with the hardiness and overall performance of this lady I want to keep her genetics going. And she’s quite stunning. And I haven’t grown for a while, so don’t think I quite did her justice. Despite humidity in the 75+ range for weeks on end (I don’t even want to put it out there for fear of tempting fate) she hasn’t had any problems like the more Indica dominant strain I have going with her. And she weathered some early neglect amazingly well.
My question:would a cutting be less likely to take this late in the game? I’ve done a bit of reading and not found too much about super late clone attempts. I’m assuming the revegging process would take a bit longer? I realize taking a branch now might delay bud development a bit....but just one wee branch should hurt much, should it? (That really small one in the middle) Also curious as to the reasoning behind that optimum window. Wish I had thought to do this a bit sooner and am wondering what you much more experienced folks have to say. Thanks for taking the time!

also feel it worth mentioning they’re still outside (with protection) in Atlantic Canada....was worried I’d have to cut weeks ago but still doing okay.

Sure you can. They might take a little longer to root though.

I carry on as you are harvest but leave one lower bud attached

let her role another 2 months and harvest the Rodalized pollen

Rodalize, that sounds like something I did to the missus flower on the weekend. Don't think she'll reveg on me though

I clone from flower all the time they reveg and look like shit but you can save the genetics

Since it is an indoor plant I would just reveg her and then go from there. It looks like there are plenty of small buds on the bottom just leave plenty on and she will come back. Then you can take some good clones

My current grow is a bagseed also from a 1/4 oz of dank Wonka Bars I got from a dispensary. From my understanding, bagseeds are often genetic hermaphrodites (mine is). I figure you would know one way or another at this point with your grow. My hope is that my plant pollinates itself just enough so I can obtain a few seeds. I haven't successfully cloned a plant yet.

I've taken clones as late as week 6 with success, as already mentioned it'll take a bit longer to root and revege but it's doable, you could also revege it from a sucker left on the plant?

Reveg. Leave a bottom bud on each stem and keep her under 24/7 light @ 100 watts or less. Your "new" clones will be ready in a month or so if you do it right :blsmoke:

Thanks for the feedback people!! Only tried one cutting.... didn’t root but didn’t do it well either. Cut them a while ago when the mold started. Not terrible but I rushed the dry/cure as I have before. Damn my impatience. Probably putting the house on the market so have to halt my garden for now. Might invest in good genetics before the next run. Will keep you posted.

just did this and was amazed.. took cuts from a plant that was week 10-11 in a greenhouse.

got some haggard looking rooted cuts now of verified genetics that crushed it.

i have a feeling the new grow with come from the “crown”
I’ll grow em out , cut and use those as moms.

this is not my normal MO , only reason I’m posting this abomination is to show it can be done.

Mine actually look worse sometimes but they get better in a month or two LOL

Cut from a sucker deep in the plant 8+week's in near the end of October. And now she and one other are the only living ladies of this strain left.. This one had no flowers on it when cut. She took 2-3 week's to show roots. November 11th-

four days later.

And today-

We call it B.G.B. or Big Green Bastard. We have no idea of her origins but she has been the largest producing strain we have ever had. This is where she was when the clone was taken.

So yeah, you can clone late in flower and still succeed. Just give it your best shot if you need to.

if you shave the stem about 3 inches up and dip it in rooting hormones and put it in a solocup with soil it should root in about 18 days then about 40 days to reveg and it will be a monster
