Monster Cropping - how long to re-veg?

Hi there,

I grew some Dr Greenthumb OG Kush S1‘s that I took some clones from in week 5 of flower (12/12). Now that the weed is harvested and cured enough I have decided on a phenotype that I want to keep at all costs.

dense, rock hard, extremely frosty appearance because of long trichome stalks, extreme diesel smell ... an absolute keeper.

all clones started rooting about 15 days after I put them in the aero cloner. I have clones from 3 different phenotypes but the one that I want to keep just isn’t showing any new growth.

It’s been 36 days today since I took the clones. The bud is slowly crisping up, while the roots keep developing. The other phenos are showing new growth already, but even their mothers were very vigorously in veg - too bad there buds were just too leafy and lacking of smell ...

Do you think there’s any chance for the cutting to still develop new growth? Or should I pop another seed at this point?

Picture a is the plant I want to keep.

I do not understand your question. She lives and developing new leaves, it only takes more time to show the serrated ones...

Thing is, the pheno that I really want to keep on working with (picture 1) doesn’t show any new growth, neither serrated nor round ones. For 35 days already. Only the root system keeps expanding.

the clone wich shows growth is the same strain but a different (not so good) pheno, just to show that my conditions should be fine.

Question is: is there any chance that new growth will set in, even after such a long time?

A rooted plant should reveg over time
You said you wanted to keep that pheno
and popping a seed will not likely be the same pheno

I feel like you want to save it but also run it this season and the two aren't likely to happen, focus on saving the gal and run something else this season

I light my reveg's 24/7 till they reverse

You got it!

basically I didn’t want to waste too much time waiting for new growth if it might never occur. But you said that once rooted it will reveg sooner or later. That’s good to know already.

Do you have any experience about how long it might take in the worst case? If it’s more than another month on top of the 35 days I’m in already than I think I really might start another seed, pot the clone, put it in the garden and let it do it’s thing.

Hey in a month you will have more experience and answers than most
Best I can offer :weed:

just went thru that same process and it worked out just fine. your clones look great and are revegging. i'd put 'em under 18/6 and feed veg nutes and they'll grow great

btw definitely worth waiting for, imo... your monster clones will grow into much more robust plants than a plant from seed you'll be glad you did it for sure. once they grow they're bigger, stronger and more branches

i usually take the monster crop clone Day18-21. I put them in a small bubble cloner, under a weak ass light 18/6, but i might try the above mentioned 24/0. By the time my plants are ready to harvest, Day 70-75, I'm ready to go on the monster clones, which are by then growing and needing some lst.
My understanding is the longer into flower you try this the longer it will take to reveg, but roots means it will.

I've done this 3 times as space is limited and i was being cheap. Good luck!

Only once have I had a plant die rather than reveg, still salty about it.

As others have said, the further into flower the longer it takes, though I would expect it to start pushing ugly reveg leaves soon.
