i dont c y not. im not the best expert but iv done some grows. With every grow iv always added SWEETEND molasses to my water and had awesome results. i used a coco, perelite mix and had no problems. i use 1and1/2-2 tablespoons of molasses for every gallon of water. and oh yea you only use this during flowering. get ready for sum beefy, sticky, sweet ass nuggs my friend!!! hope i helped, and good luck growing.

do you do this all the way through flower or just the last couple of weeks. i only flush for 1 week and was wondering about including mollases in the flush, i have heard people have some possitive effects doing this, sweeter buds, increase in girth and so on. but most of these people are using soil and i dont want to ruin my grow by doing it, because im in coco.

so 28grms what method did you use, would like to hear since you have had success this way.. peace

i use it all the way thru flowering but not during my week of flush. wen i used coco tho it was a half half mix of coco and perelite. molasses is all natural so u dont have to worry. start you first couple times with just 1tbs per gallon of water and then move on to 2 tbs

don't do it, I did and it was a BIG mistake. PH would shoot up to 8 overnight after a few weeks of using it. Plants did badly.

Are you sure it was the molasses that did this? Most likely something in your rez that is alive (good beasties) that ate the sugar, and their waste f'd with the pH. I see this if I use BMO's SPT and molasses in the same mix.

Honestly, I used molasses in a DWC and would strongly recommend NOT using it in that situation some guys are going to tell you to use it some will tell you to avoid it however, I would just buy a bottle of flora necter or sweet, two great meant for growing additives. Lastly, if you do go the molasses route, IMO, Flush for two weeks with only ph'd water, the two weeks before that time start the molasses but just ween it in there slowly. It does puff things up nicely. Oh yea. DONT OVER PPM. Lower your main nutes to accomodate.

agreed with poster about molasses in coco. bad idea. it is an organic substrate and b/c of the microorganisms that will inevietably result from it, u run the risk of opening the door to pathogens if your environ is not 100%-
had the same dilemma-very easy solution-Botinicare make Citrus Sweett and Berry Sweet that contain the necessary sugars, carbs and balanced environ to fatten up your buds. Huge, huge difference. can be administered entire life. provides some extra Sulfer and Magnesium as well. Huge diff in bud size from the extra sugars. great shit and cheap too. also found something called Flower power by Boatinacre-2-3-5 but is the only product I have seen so far on the market that contains Mag, Copper, Iron, Zinc, Molyboden, Boron, Calcium, Manganese-which I have never seen,Silicon, all the micros-talk about haveing a balanced equation addition to your feedng regime.

IMO, the sugars are there for the mychrozia that cannot produce their own sugars, but help the roots uptake water and nutes (less nutes needed...no need to flush until last 7-10). The plant produces it's own sugars, and though sweeteners influence flavor (if not flushed out!) are not only for a healthy fuana in the root zone, but also low grade nutes and micro nutes. I used molasses... a friend gave me sweet... ran out... used molasses again...and now need more.

IMO...(big disclaimer there)...ALL of the "sweet or carb boosters" are over-priced sugar. Molasses is actually a fairly good low grade nute (5-1-1) and is good in flower for this and the micro stuff.

I am currently using Botanicares flower power as my primary flower nutes (I also use a tea of worm castings and Alaskan hume oil from the local shop, liquid karma, cal-mag, blast-off [out] and a weekly Super Plant Tonic, and some sweetener [back to molasses] all @ 1/2 the low dose. As for Flower Power being unique in containing micro nutes...just on my shelf the Foxfarm trio (beastie bloomz etc.) as well as Tiger Bloom (I did not check grow big, but big bloom does not.)

I am going to try the FF nutes on one flowering clone now that I have a ppm pen.

overpriced sugars I prob agree with, but molases and hydro just dont mix unless you are a 10 year vet grower. while prob overpriced, I have yet to find any real alternatives. the extra weight and desnity from the carbs is real.

Oh yea that is exactly it. Molasses fed the beasties, their waste f'd the pH.

To correct the problem I had to flush, stop using the molasses, and use H2O2 for a while.

What is BMO's SPT? I use beneficial fungi that I purchase from fungi.com. Is it something similar?
