It’s more than likely beneficial, looks like a mycorrhizal fungi, as long as the plants are not showing any signs of distress, I wouldn’t worry.I’m assuming this is mold, is it beneficial or harmful to my soil?
nope this is actually the most vibrant/vigorous they’ve beenIt’s more than likely beneficial, looks like a mycorrhizal fungi, as long as the plants are not showing any signs of distress, I wouldn’t worry.
The fungus is usually a sign of a healthy rich soil! I had a crop of mushrooms sprout from the bottom of one of my grow bags.nope this is actually the most vibrant/vigorous they’ve been
That makes sense, I forgot I just top dressed for the first time last week. Maybe the beneficials from that took off and produced this. The fungus is usually a sign of a healthy rich soil! I had a crop of mushrooms sprout from the bottom of one of my grow bags.
I feel like the people in the organics section wouldn’t agree with this.get rid of the dead leaves on top of your soil or you will have trouble
I run organic and I’d agree with that. Anything dead and lifeless shouldn’t be hangin’ out in your soil. My humble opinion and practice anyway.I feel like the people in the organics section wouldn’t agree with this.
So would you consider what I’m seeing in my soil a bad thing? Im guessing it’s either from a recent top dress, or it’s the dead leaves.I run organic and I’d agree with that. Anything dead and lifeless shouldn’t be hangin’ out in your soil. My humble opinion and practice anyway.
The microbes and fungi are always in the soil, but when conditions are right their numbers explode. You can supplement the mycorrhizae too. That makes sense, I forgot I just top dressed for the first time last week. Maybe the beneficials from that took off and produced this.
You dont want mould that breaks down cannabis kicking around lol do yourself a favour top dress with non cannabis stuff as for the grey stuff on top of the soil its harmless we should always remove the dead leaves from plants tho to be safeFrom what I’ve found online, it’s common to see this after top dressing. Kind of the point of having all the beneficials in the top dress mix, I believe they’re breaking down the leaves.
No, not at all. Like @conor c said, you don’t want dead stuff lying in the soil, but the white fungus isn’t necessarily a bad thing. As you grow out, too dress etc it’ll level itself out.So would you consider what I’m seeing in my soil a bad thing? Im guessing it’s either from a recent top dress, or it’s the dead leaves.
