Mold

I might be posting in the wrong thread here but here goes. I have a 5x5 grow tent and in the beginning I had some humidity problems. Got it all worked out but when I went to clip three of my plants there was mold in the buds of all three. The mold in 2 out of the three was very minimal and I just threw those buds out... prob about 10G's in total. The big problem was with the white widow. The mold had spread throughout the biggest buds on the plant equating to around 1/4 of the yield having mold.

The question is, and sorry I do not have pictures of the mold, I saw a forum post about soaking the buds in water for up to 8 days to kill the mold and then dry them out like usual. There was, like always, plenty of back and forth on if this was good or bad. The main concern I had is I understand if the mold spread and started to rot the buds you should just toss it. The mold I faced was either very new or was just superficial mold. It was very white and looked like lite cotton balls in between the dense buds. There was no degradation of the buds or leaves that the mold was on. I was planning on throwing those buds away anyway but wanted to see what the water bath would do. After around 7 days I dried the buds out and they seem to be mold free... Any thoughts on the safety of smoking them? Should I still chuck them?

Mold is mold i would toss anything with mold and say fuck some water soaking method. That shit will give you pneumonia. Just my 2 cents
Gospel. Preach it.

OP: Listen the fuck up! Throw it out! You can get a very serious long lasting illness from smoking moldy weed. When I was in my late teens some friends of mine got a great score on some fire outdoor grown bud. We all subsequently got respiratory illnesses for over 6 weeks. We found out the bud was contaminated with mold. Homie, just don't do it.

As harmless as a little mold may seem it can seriously fuck you up. I know it sucks to throw weed away but better safe then sorry. I threw out several oz. Last fall and it was fucked up but had to be done

There are caterpillars that leave behind fine white webbings, looks like mold and it usually turns into that but the little fuckers can be tiny, spin that fine white hairy shit and it just goes brown and moldy everywhere if they not kept in check.
