Hey bro, I used this method for the following reasons:

- it was my first cannabis grow ever, and I was new so learning from this site and various other resources.

- it was recommended by various users on this page who seemed to have very good ratings on here.

Potassium Bicarbonate:

Overview: A lot of organic fungicide products for powdery mildew are simply potassium bicarbonate and a wetting agent in water. Save money on overpriced liquid formulations by mixing it yourself using potassium bicarbonate powder and an organic wetting agent.
Application: Make a 0.5–2.0% solution (5–20 grams per liter) of potassium bicarbonate to water. Spray directly onto mildew infected plant tissue. Repeat weekly.
Cannabis Guru Ed Rosenthal’s formula uses an ounce of potassium bicarbonate mixed into a gallon of water and 1½ cups of milk.

So in closing basically I was new and followed lots of direction online and from within here. In future I may use something different but hopefully I won't have any PM to deal with

I washed my buds after I used the solution I made. And it didn't rectify the problem. So I'm not sure what the lesser of the two evils was? Smoking mold and mildew or lightly treated with a food grade substance ? I dunno.

I may use your method next time if I encounter this.

Potassium bicarbonate is a great way to end PM. I use a product called green cure, I think they are the same. It's a powder I spray at the beginning of flower in the same tank as another product called BT. They are both organic and can be washed off with water. So one good rain and they are gone. The BT is a dead bacteria that when eaten by catapillars causes them stomach problems and they die. They get into buds and chew. When they have been there a bit their poop starts giving mold a home. Together with green cure (fungicide) they make a great combo and can be sprayed up to harvest. As in spraying other products avoid the hot sun spray early or late in the day. Spray in the evening but early enough it will dry. The GC and potassium bicarbonate changes the surface ph enough to stop mold. They can both be washed off with a rain so you should spray about twice a week. This will not burn your buds. This years harvest has had very little mold damage and I am very pleased with my spray program. I used neem during veg and it also kept most pests away. I had a few aphids though that broke threw, a little soap and water took care of that. This will be my program for next year as well. The G C was a little pricey but the container is big enough I will not need to buy it again ever,lol.

Right on. To each there own, I spray during veg and pre flower after that nothing goes on my hard earned flowers. Seems counter productive. If you setup properly WPM shouldn’t be an issue. Happy growing.

Actually it is organic and OMRI certified. And it works wonders.

This is the first year I’ve left my girls completely uncovered in 10 years and I think my PM is actually less this year than previous years, that could be from multiple factors, but if you tent them you’re bound to trap some moisture and humidity.
A 20/80 milk mixture has actually worked really well for me. I like it because it’s very mild on the plant.
I have not sprayed anything on my plants since I cloned them in March. I’ve seen some PM in the last three weeks and I’ve sprayed the milk mixture twice.
We’ve had two Minor showers in Sept and it’s not supposed to rain through next weekend the 10-11 when I harvest my Purple Punch.

That’s awesome. Yeah I had a bit of dried milk on my plants with made me paranoid so I cut a bunch of fan leaves. We’re supposed to get rain next week, so I’m thinking I’ll have to harvest in about a week. Plants are looking alright. Lets see your purple punch! Also, your profile pic is insane. Is that yours? The profile pic is mine. Not positive but I think it’s an Oregon Diesel cola. Great strain, but a bitch to trim!

Top 2 are the Purple Punch. Bottom is Wedding Cake. Wedding cake is at least 2 weeks out. If you get a close up
Of the wedding cake you can see the milk residue .

Wow. Looking very nice man. And yeah I’ve gotten rid of a ton of my fan leaves. Hoping I got rid of al the mildew and milk residue. I’ll be checking on my plant later this afternoon. Thanks for chiming in man! And best of luck with harvest!
