Outdoor or indoor? What’s the humidity? Do you have airflow around the plants? I don’t know what it is but I’m looking for a cause for it to be mold/mildew

Sounds like it could be mold 80% is pretty high. Try and increase the airflow around the plant if you can. Look into fighting mold asap.

Looks like powdery mildew to me. Had it bad last year. Best stuff is bacterial fungicide such as Actinovate (at least that I know of). There are other remedies but bacterial fungicide is safe and A good idea to use anyway, IMO. I'm an hour and a half West of Detroit so...

This is the right diagnosis without a doubt. After spending an entire summer waging war against powdery mildew, I will never not be able to recognize it.. Unfortunately.

If you’re unable to fully eradicate the PM by harvest, you might want to consider doing a hydrogen peroxide bud wash. I’d recommend checking out Jorge Cervantes’ YouTube video on this subject if you’re curious to learn more! Some may claim that this will alter the flavor of your bud but in my experience, the difference is negligible (I didn’t notice any difference).

I’ve actually found some PM here and there on my plants this year and I’ve been trying out a couple of products that are nowhere near that expensive. For the most part I’ve been using Green Cure, which I believe is potassium bicarbonate. For the most part,I’m just spraying this on leaves, with exception to the popcorn buds near the bottom which I don’t plan to keep anyways. In cases where I find a leaf with a significant amount of PM, I just remove it entirely. Another product that I tried was GH Defguard, which if I recall correctly, is supposed to be a bio fungicide that can be used as a preventative measure.

At the very least, you should try to mitigate the problem as much as possible by simply removing affected leaves. I also like to selectively pluck leaves in order to thin out parts of the plant that look like potential breeding grounds for PM.

YW. And there are cheaper ways. Not all of my plants turned out great this year but I have some that are over my head so that's what I'm using. it's also easier than a lot of methods just using the actinovate but I'm told there are cheaper brands of bacterial fungicide too. I got 18 Oz buy wait on eBay for $116 after tax. People use peroxide and baking soda too for a cheaper method.

But I do want to stress that if you have p.m. Bud rot is likely on the way and it can be devastating to your crop. Although if you're keeping it Outdoors those buds may not get fat enough to actually be bothered by Bud rot.
