Molasses,,do You Use It?

Raw Sugar (brown sugar) is not a good thing. Back strap Molasses is a good thing in it's understood use. Black Strap Molasses is the same as "Pure Ribbon Cane Syrup". At any rate, molasses does 3 various things. Main reason for application is that it's like a feast to the microorganisms in your soil, IF you have microorganisms in your soil to begin with. If your soil is sterile, or, if you have used any chemicals in your soil, you have the "Dead Zone". The reason microorganisms is import is that these Babies constantly work the soil, adds oxygen, loosens the soil & breaks down the natural organic material so that the plant can absorb the nutrients. Basically, it's a speed up process of composting. I use store bought potting soil with live microorganisms. "Lady Bug" is a good one. If you've got a dead zone, the soil will pack, water will not absorb, 80% of all chemical ferts drain off. When molaas is mixed 50/50 with a product like "Medina Hasta Gro, Plus, ", your plants will dance in the wind. Also, it sweetens the taste of the buds. Use 2 tbs per gallon. Young Babies, cut 1/4TH, then add accordingly. Concentrate on only 2 things. The soil used, & the stain. Goal, 16' plants, ass-kicking, sweet tasting Buds. Or, like me, my 3RD rejuive plants are kicking ass, and the clones & seeds collected amounts to 100's of babies & Oz's. All of the above was a dream. Good Luck.

I've read in another thread about the effects of adding Molasses to your grow before the final flush. I've also read about using it during the whole flowering period. Says it fattens up the buds...anybody know about this?

MOLASES WORK WELL BUT THE ROOT SYSTEM HAS A HARD TIME ABSORBING THE CARBOHYDRATES. THE GUYS OVER AT WEST COAST HYDROPONICS SET ME UP WITH A FOLIAR FEEDER CALLED BIO BOOST BY CANNA. THIS STUFF IS CRAZY FOR YEILDS. .THEY SENT DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO USE IT....THEY ARE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA BY WWW.WESTCOASTHYDRO.NET

i didnt know that....thas cool to know!

isnt carboload the same effect of molasses?
all the "nute" companies give things like molasses stoner friendly names like "carboload" "sensigrow", "monsterbud" etc, etc.etc, in order to charge outrageous prices for things like....molasses. i know advanced has a product thats straight molasses which they gave some silly name and charge 10x what you'd pay for a jar of black strap at the grocery store. their sensi grow/bloom products are nothing more than the micro/macro nutes packaged up all pretty and overpriced. this grow i'm using nothing but what i can find naturally or a the local wal-mart/lowes......and the plants look as good if not better as when i was using the overpriced nutes from fox farm or advanced. molasses is wonderful for your flowering baby....but stick to a bottle of black strap from krogers

sorry im not running molasses in my res, let alone for it to pass thru and clog my aero jets!

ill stick to substances made for hydro....if i wasnt in hydro...i'd take your advice....but that is almost like a nightmare waiting to happen!

Exactly why they made these HYDRO solutions. I dont doubt the effect for soil growers, but I do not suggest using sugar, corn syrups or molasses in your res. I had posted a link to an earlier thread on this subject in my last post. In which they talk about this same problem.

how abou manually top feeding a small amount of molasses so you get the bennifiet of it but no clogging? just an idea because i've seen such a uge difference since i started using it.

actually i diddnt use it for the batch of 5 plants i'm budding now and they havent fattened up yet i'm doing this to see if there is a difference and already these buds are not as good as previous grows.

I'm gonna experiment with one of my girls and feed her grape kool-aid.... I read it makes the buds "purple".

I used Molasses on my last grow at every watering . Had no problems. I do not know if it is the humidity this time of the year in my grow room, but I get a horrible smell adding molasses to the water... it also attracts alot of gnats, so I am not going to use it this time around.

I also have a different type of plant this time. It is only my second grow, so I have no idea what it is but I had an early problem with my leaves yellowing in the middle of the plant near the leaf veins. I assumed it was poor ventilation combined with the Molasses. That is when I stopped adding the Molasses.

I may try the Kool Aid.. just for fun.

I was using black strap molasses, but now I'm using sorghum molasses because it seems to have double the nutrients in it.

Lot's of people keep repeating this rumor that was started awhile back. If you think that AN's Carboload is molasses you've either never seen Carboload or you've never seen molasses. It's just a made-up urban myth.

And of course Sensi Grow/Bloom is "nothing more" than micronutrients and macronutrients. It's a *$#%ing hydroponic nutrient concentrate. What the hell did you expect it to have in it, puppies? You're basically saying that Sensi sucks because it's a plant food that has nothing but plant food in it. Hello?

I don't complain about there being "nothing but water" coming out of the tap when I turn the handle...

I remember in school putting flower/plant cuttings in water with food colouring and the plant would absorb the colour.

I am definitely gonna try watering a small plant with purple(blue and red) food colouring and see how well it's absorbed by the buds.

I started putting nonsulfer type Molasses in my plants about the same day I started this thread, and I am here to tell you that it works! My buds have bulked up in visible size. I am very pleased and will continue to use it. IT WORKS!
