Would a moisture meter be a good way of checking when your plants need water?

If you don't know how to pick up your pots to see how much moisture is in them... Sure

Haha thanks. I'm new to gardening in general, so that's why I'm asking. Nothing growing yet, I want to get educated as much as possible before I start growing.

Yea you can usually tell when your pots need water because they are much lighter in weight... You can also move the soil an inch or two down and see if it's dry, then I will add some water... Good luck!
