There actually better the smaller you make them. It doesnt matter what size as long as its at least a liter.
When the smoke stacks up while the water drains. It stagnates in only a few seconds. So if you get a smaller volume bottle your soke wont sit in a chamber for as long giving you a fresher smoke. Ive smoked a 2 liter. a 3 liter, and a purified water jug, so its with experience I tell you make a small one. Its still too much hit at once in even a gatorade bottle.

I'm going to have to disagree I make them with 3/4 Gal. and 1 Gal. Containers.

Cut the entire bottom off of the container, and submerge in the sink, or wherever. Lift up while lighting to fill, pop the cap off, push down and take the whole rip.

I can clear a full 1 Gal. this is pretty much my "routine" way of smoking. i.e. what I do every time unless I'm with my friends then I pull out the glass.

I think a percolator would get in the way, but then again I've always just hit it straight up. And yea they really are outrageous especially if it's your first time hitting one!

I use the waterfall method. Gets me more stoned off a couple rips then hitting twenty bongs. I use a 591 ml pop bottle. Any larger is too big to fill up in my sink, anyways the 591 ml hits kick me in the ass well enough

Awwwww, gravity bongs.. gotta love em. Make sure you don't have anything to do for the next few hours. I remember one time we made one out of a 5 gallon water jug and a pool. That thing would pull 10 huge hits out of it. My freinds pool was just a waiting pool so we filled it up with regular water (i wouldn't suggest cholorine water) and we got FUCKED UP. One of my friends had to lay by himself for awhile because he had these rushing vibrations going down his body. LOL. good times..

A few weeks ago I was in san diego for spring break, and me and my homies made a waterfall bong out of a 16.9 oz water bottle lol. Smoke about three bottles each of headband. Dude..we were soooo sheened afterwards lol. We walked around downtown sd for over an hour after that lol. And mind u it was 1am lol. We were looking for the Gaslamps area. Alls I remember was being baked as fuck and one of my homies just dancing the whole time cuz he was soo happy lol

luckilly my tolerance isn't th at low otherwise I wouldn't have been able to do a bunch of work after hitting it up 4 times

I'm gonna switch to the smaller bottle though, think it will definitely be worth it.

you forgot the step when u steal a screen from the kitchen sink, my mom could not figure out where they all went lmfao and not one socket set in the garage had the one size

well I got a 591 ml bottle for this shit. now I"m having a hard time deciding if I want to do the water-fall method or the bucket method..

I'm thinking the bucket method because it' inevitably easier...

water-fall sounds interesting but it seems that more can go wrong (the hole can be the wrong size causing too fast of pull or too slow..)

I am doing my sinkers out of a 3 liter Nestle Pure Life jug with the circle on top cut out, with a 710ml diet pepsi bottle as my top bottle. Added a cheap bong screw on metal bowl to a 1 inch piece of copper pipe and duct taped it all to the cap with a small hole burnt into it. Works great and hits you right in the sweet spot. I'm smokin' NL and Legends Ultimate Indica out of it all damn day! This thread rocks haha.

I didn't do the 591ml one because my cap didn't fit right without letting air in...

Ya your right. you can also make one your self by crinkling up aluminum foil under the bottom of the cap and slicing little holes in it.

Start with small hole and melt the lid hole with a lighter and slide the bit into it.
or get some chewing gum and silde the bit though the chewed gum to seal any cracks.
And dont worry about the hole being too big or too small. A smaller hole will give you a bigger hit. A bigger hole will give you a fresher hit.

no that wasn't the problem the threads of the cap literally didn't fit right, I was using the other one I got perfect.
