Mixing super soil after 10 yr hiatus

Hi guys, I used to grow organic with super soil back in 2010 and am finally returning after not growing for years. Stoked to be back here but forgot my old account login :wall:.

My friend who usually uses salt nutes asked me to help him with his soil and I'm a bit nervous some of my methods are outdated. I was wondering if you could take a look at this modified super soil mix I made and give me some notes? We'll be mixing in a few days and it would be much appreciated to catch something wrong before we mix and cook for a month.

Total super soil needed is 42 cubic feet (320 gallons)
Base Soil:
50% Fox Farms Ocean Forest
20% Compost
30% Perlite
20% Earth Worm Castings

Nutrients:
20 lbs Blood Meal (12-0-0)
5 lbs Alfalfa Meal (2.5-0.5-2.5)
10 lbs Kelp Meal (1-0-2)
15 lbs Bone Meal (3-15-0)
15 lbs Seabird Guano (0-11-0)
2.5 lbs Langbeinite (0-0-22)

3 cups Oyster Shell
3 cups Azomite
10 lbs Rock Phosphate
4 cups Dolomite Lime
2 cups Gypsum
1 cup Humic Acid

We've already purchased all of these. I have experience making compost teas from 10 yrs ago, so I'll be helping him out with that. Once we cook this for a month, it will go in the bottom half of the holes and the top will be base soil. Considering spraying the pile with tea before cooking to help speed up the breakdown process.

Thoughts?

I think pretty much the most common mix people use right now is a coots mix. I really don't have a set recipe for when I make up some soil, I like to think that it really comes down to compost/ewc quality as far as what's needed beyond that. A lot of different ways to get to the end goal with organic amendments, but in my opinion quality compost/ewc is the key to making it all work out nicely.

It seems like you have a solid grasp on things though and seem to have all bases covered. My only suggestion is maybe switching out the blood meal/bone meal/guano for something a bit more "even" as those are all pretty heavy on one specific addition it seems. I know you said you already purchased everything, but maybe swapping those out and adding some neem/crab meals instead could make things a bit more balanced from the start if it wouldn't be a hassle to do at this point. Just my two cents and am by no means an expert, so take it for what it's worth.

Best of luck with the comeback though and hope things take off without a hiccup. Hopefully get some updates down the road as you all get things going.

Thanks, appreciate the warm welcome.

Looking at coot's mix - it does seem simple and cheap. I ran my friend's tab up quite a bit already before remembering to check the latest recipes  Next time I'll make it easier on the wallet.

Maybe the best bet is cutting these high P nutes in half (bone + guano) and then having him top-dress early in flowering to play it safe? The holes we dug are pretty big, 150 gal each, so the roots shouldn't reach the super soil until mid / late veg. I'd imagine by then the soil has broken down a decent amount and only major imbalances would lock something out.
