Alright new to this site, hello everyone. Anyways, im in about my 5th-6th week of vegetative growth for my one plant. I have been doing A LOT of research and have been on this forum as well as a few others since i have started and just soaked up as much info as i could. I understand that 6500k is good for veg and 2700k is good for flowering. Since i have started i have added a few new lights and different lights at that, to make a long story short as of right now I am using one 105w 6500k light and two 30w 3500k lights. Is this mixture of red and blue light going to be ok?

Btw, Im going all in on CFL'S!!!

P.S. I also have two 65w 2700k's sitting in my closet waiting for the flowering stage... So I have (1) 105w 6500k cfl, (2) 30w 3500k cfl's <~~~All three being used as we speak for veg, and (2) 65w 2700k cfl's sitting around waiting to be used. Hoping to start flowering in about 4 weeks. Any tips or advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Umm I dont know how to feel about it. You can def veg with soft white, with the 18/6 or 24/0 schedule. Its just better to use Daylight for that veg period and soft white for flowering. I dont think it would be a better option, but it wouldnt do any harm. :D

Expect a large sudden growth during flowering. :D Plan for it.
yes so I have read, Im expecting it to grow 2 or 3 times its size once i start flowering. Really though im hoping for no bigger than a 3' plant haha. This is just my first time and first real experience, trying to see if i can pull it off.

Hey check out my grow. Start to finish with 4 - 7800k tubes, 4 - 2700k bulbs and 4 - 6500k bulbs. Turned out just fine.

Yeah kick the bulbs that are between 3000k and 3700k, they will do something but it is minimal compared to 2700k and 5700k bulbs. I dont recommend growing tall plants with CFLs the lower fan leaves do not get enough light. LST them bitchs and you will get tons of bud sites on an even level making the CFL light spectrum more efficent for the entire plant.
Look into topping, super croping, lst, and scrog systems to utilize thouse CFLS

be more curious is on the ball. Broad pectrum can be good but between 3.5-4.5k is alil useless - well not worth the electricity at least.

I dont have a lot of experience growing as this is my first real time actually following through and taking care of a plant. I remember a few years back germinating some seeds and planting a few, but not much ever happened with that and they were outdoors, now im going indoors. So I couldnt tell you whats it's like vegging with 6500, 2700 or even 3500k's. But my plant seems to be responding and doing well so I'll leave it at what it is right now.

Decided to add another light to the grow room! Threw in one of the 65w 2700k's. Im now growing one plant under 4 cfl's! a total of 230W. once i flower I'll throw in another 65watter. or maybe i'll do that now. :-P Just thought I'd do so because my plant is growin so well, I cant help but to just sit and stare at it sometimes haha. Im almost comstantly blowing a fan on it and the stem is getting fatty, nearly 1/2" at the bottom. plant has 9 nodes and a total of about 30+ individual leaves, it's really hard to get an accurate count because they're growing all over the place and overlapping eachother every where you look. and let me add the fact that the plant is only 6" tall! sorry, im just a little excited. I Think the plant is gonna grow some nice platinum bubba KUSH buds! Happy growing everyone. :hump:

the CFL tutorial says that plants don't absorb 3500K light, only 2500-3000K and 5000-6500K. Veg with mainly 6500K and a few 2700K, then switch to mainly 2700K for your flower.

and make sure you have coverage on all sides of the plant, not just the top. when it gets big have a few up each side and more on top. and keep them around 2-4 inches from the plant, as long as you have good ventilation and airflow.
