Mixing 600w Hps with 300w cfl??? Possible?

Hey Guys..Captain Acid here.
Im fairly new to all of this and already posted a thread asking for some advice,
im jjust asking one more thing because i love farming, and i would love to give out the best results i can..
i am ordering a 600w hps as i have a 300w cfl, because the cfl wouldnt give me as much of a good yield as i need to keep the light soo close to the plant...

My QUESTION IS:
1: should i germinate my seeds with the cfl and then move them to hps after a week when they are bigger and stronger? or is it okay to put it straight under the hps?
2: once my 4 plants are growing with the hps, can i put the cfl in the middle of the 4 plants so that they can get light even from the bottom or is that over doing it?

Like i said im new to this and im just asking for professional advice :)

Germinate seeds under cfls because the hps is too intense for young plants. Move seedlings under hps after a few weeks.
The hps will supply more than enough light so adding the cfl is not really nedded but can be done if desired.

thanks for the reply bro! Appreciate...
after how long should i do the transfer? 2nd week? or ? i heard someone say that i should wait until the 3rd layer of leaves pops up...
i was just worried because i want to get the maximum yield, and was scared that the cfl could make my plants not as healthy... as in soo far the cfl is doing wonders they look healthy and strong... so i guess il follow this technique,,, let me know if you got any better suggestions.. and thanks for taking your time to help me out :)

I move my seedlings under intense light after about 3 weeks. Keep a close eye on the plants for the first days after the switch until they get used to the new environment.

Guys i need some pro advice... and please dont hate... i bought a SONLIGHT Digital Ballast 4D (Dimmer 250 / 400 / 600W / SL) and AGRO 600W Sonlight for veg and flowering... im planning on planting 5 babies.... is that good? or too much ? how much could i excpect to yield? im using nutrients too

If you have a square or rectangular space then stick with 4, it fits the area and fills canopy better. Keep the 5 for now and since you are new you may not be able to fill your space so ofc use all of them but 4 pots is ultimately what you should build into, or 6.. depending on your space/growth rate.
Got no advice to give on dimmers or the brands you brought up.

A 300cfl blue spectrum will be good for early veg. When they are small keep them closer together and gradually separate them as they grow, once the cfl is not covering them all close/well enough then get the hps and put the pots into a rough 3x3 or 4x4 foot lay out. Using the cfl as additional lighting may heat up root systems too much if used between plants, while your air flow may not be able to handle both lights as is. The additional cfl may also result in some plants/parts staying smaller while others stretch more to the hps. This could give uneven growth so that the hps spectrum and intensity can't reach the varying node spacing in flower. Lst and so forth could over come that but it can only do so much, 1f stem/branch vs 2f is a losing battle to even out.

YOU ARE A MAGIC MAN!
thanks soo much...will stick to this tip... bro but thing that worries me is that i bought a 600w agro bulb.... https://www.hydroponics.eu/grow-light-sonlight-agro-600w-high-pressure-sodium-lamp~1736.html

but from just read one thread where someone said he didnt like the grow outcome with it... but it has 90000 lumens) (i bought all this in a package..)

But i had bought by mistake the Sylvania SHP-TS 600W Grolux I was going to return it... but if its true that the agro bulb isnt that good i guess il keep the 600w grolux and use that one....

Links the description of both bulbs

I'm running 2 600w hps along with 2 4 bulb t5 fixtures. I basically use the t5s to add blue and Uva to my spectrum. Later in flowering I will swap out the blue bulbs for red ones and add more uva bulbs.

skip the stupid cfl's in flowrer. some support mercury in the dump some dont, most realize once you graduate to a hid light you can put away the follies of past growing needs.

yeah, i agree, but unfortunately i had bought a AGRO 600W Sonlight bulb and a SONLIGHT Digital Ballast 4D (Dimmer 250 / 400 / 600W / SL). will that do me justice?
or do i have to buy a hid bulb for vegging?

like idk man, everyone has something bad to say about something in this forum hahahahaah you can never be right xD
i just wanted to know if i could plant 4 to 5 plants with that setup,

-SONLIGHT Digital Ballast 4D (Dimmer 250 / 400 / 600W / SL)
-AGRO 600W Sonlight bulb
- LONG-GLOSS 50 V hammered riflector
- mylar all around, 4x4 foot grow area
-atm 1 big fan, but il buy another small one,,
-heat doesnt seem to be a problem to me atm.

just wanted to know how many plants, and about how much would i yield... and want to see which of you will get it right in 4 months xD

Bro get a sun master dual spectrum 600hps. I've got two cfl 125w blue I use these just for my new clones potted into 6in pots 3 weeks max then put ur HP's dimmer on 400w after repoting to final pot size I use 23ltr fiber pots very good. keep ur lights about 2\3 ft away intill ur babys adopted to ur hps after 3\4 weeks in veg I flip to 12\12 give a week turn up to 600 then 660 last 10 days as I'm flushing by the way I've got 2 600 w sun master bulbs with dimmer balist so when I'm vegging its 800 w and so on u will learn trust matey happy growing

Given that you are a new grower I doubt you will get close to 400g/3.5oz per plant from 4 autos. Fem are easier to do, or harder to mess up, yield more but even with those you'd be doing well to get 3oz per plant first time.

You should lower your expectations on those autos to around .5 to 1.5oz per plant to avoid disappointment. You also have a lot of diff strains that may want different neut strengths and ratios at diff times. If you do a lot of homework on how to run autos and get a quick grasp on ppm/feeding to tailor to each strain you may push 1oz+ per plant. The 600hps guarantees nothing, it's really just a small part of what is required.

okay BOYS! so im germinating 4 autos annd 4 femminised, i think one of my autos (nothern lights auto) isnt going to hatch... but il farm both genre of plants, il keep you guys updated on how the process is going !
and i did loads of homework on it... so please do a prayer for me....
il make a grow journal...you are free to sub to it :)

P.S anyone know how to change your display name?
