Mix HPS and MH in flower?

Should I mix in some MH bulbs into the flowering mix or just keep it all HPS? Running 6 1K's. Any thoughts, experience?

Did you use MH during veg? If so switch to HPS, and if you need the extra lighting than use the MH, but if you can get by with one HPS light, use just the HPS.
If you used both during veg than I would just keep using both.

JN811 - What is your ratio HPS:MH? Have you noticed less stretch?

I switched after already into flowering. I use 400 hps 400 mh 2 outta 3 days and the 800 hps 400 mh 1/3 days so its kind of hard to tell whats doing what because by the time i entered the mh they were prettymuch done stretching.

I see, thanks for the info. I usually aim for between 25-30 large plants. Just like em to have plenty of sunshine.

heres a pic of my garden if it helps.. its 8 plants.. how long u plan to veg? unless ur gonna veg for like 4-5 months i think thats a bit excessive but again its up to you..

I use a 400w HPS and a 400w MH for flowering. I was told that red increases flowering rates and white increases THC levels. "HPS for the cash, MH for the stash." or something to that effect. I have another HPS ballast and bulb but I thought I give the MH a go during flowering this time instead of the 2 x 400w HPS. I have the HPS over one half and the MH over the other. The plants under MH look larger and have more budsites but the proof will be in the pudding. When I harvest in three weeks I'll be able to give you a definite answer.

It's good to use both spectums if possible. I makes it closer to the sun's rays. I don't know what ratio you should use though. I've never done it myself. Can't afford that, and don't have the room.

I dont remember exactly where i read or heard about it, but I've heard that when in veg you need about a 2:1 mh/hps if possible. If in flower 2:1 hps/mh. If you only have 2 lights then by all means use them together.

So,same is it for 250 hps and 250w mh?! 1:1 ratio for flowering..lets do that

I like a ratio of 2 hps lights to 1mh (2:1), better overall plant health and appearance, seem to have better coloring as well, also helps with stretch if you have a stretchy strain.
