Mites.

Well, I have been battling mites on my ladies for quite some time now. I have been using an organic spray I got from a hydro shop, and it seems to keep them at bay. However, with time the leaves have now got white spots all over the tops of them. Albeit the plants are healthy otherwise, will the presence of mites seriously detriment the flowering process?
Also, if anyone knows of a good home made organic spray, please share that with me too!

Found this on another grow site, and it sounds like it has worked so well for him, he had to search out other spider mite infested plants to continue his tests. Take it for what it's worth. Haven't tried it yet, but I'm going to:

this stuff kills mites!! its all i use.
have fun killing those little bugers

1/4 cup Baking Soda
1/2 cup Apple Cider vinegar
1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
2 drops dish detergent
1/4 Teaspoon Epsom Salts

Take a cup of very hot water and desolve the epsom salts, take rest of ingredients and place in a clean 2 liter bottle and let work out. Add epsom solution. Add water to fill to 48ozs(3/4 full).Shake well.

TO USE: Cover soil/medium with plastic, with lights off mist plant all over, especialy under leaves,
Wait 20 mins, then spritz off with clean fresh water shaking as much water off plant as you can.
The fresh water spritz rinse will remove the solution along with the desolved remains of the mites and their eggs.

Have fun with your new "Mite Eradicator"

Note by MrFixit: Water plants 1/2 hour before spraying. This will help keep your plants from absorbing the spray.

This solution has been tested and used as directed will not burn plants, the rinse is very important though as it removes the spent solution before it can concentrate and burn the plant. It also removes most of the dead mites and eggs so you don't end up smoking them.

The formula can be diluted further,to 1 liter and it will still kill the mites but isn't as effective at dissolving and removing the mite parts.
Since removing the mite debris is desirable,I recommend the stronger solution, just remember to rinse and shake.
This formula is alkaline(about 7.8-FPRIVATE "TYPE=PICT;ALT=" so please remember to rinse.

Mite irradication is absolutely assured and guaranteed if used as directed.
I've never seen ANYTHING work this well for mite irradication!!
I used to gas my booths for mites,it worked but they came back,I haven't seen a living mite in a long time now. They haven't come back, partly because of cooler weather, partly because I hosed the Roses that were infecting everything with the formula and wiped out all the mites during testing.
The only thing I wish I'd done different is,I wish I would have done sections of the Roses and preserved
some of the mites for later tests.I've had to go searching for victims to test it on and there just aren't any left!! I did find some victims for my final tests in the park where we have meetings, the plants by the river are pretty sickly and infested(were I should say,I walked around with ONE pint bottle and cleaned up most of the area.LOL)
If news of this formula were to become widespread, mites would become an endangered species!!!So GOOD HUNTING !

Mr. Ganja

Ok I found a combo I am going to try here. Did some searching and ended up on good old ebay talking with a few hydro ganja supporters and am going this route...

I would recommend Floramite SC. It is very low on the toxic scale amd will kill the mites within three days. And the eggs. I would recommend dipping first to be sure u got the whole plant, unless its flowering!!! The Azatrol is a great organic mainly used for maintenaince, after the floramite kills em. Also spray the surrounding area and anything u think may have mites on it.
Forbid 4F is also good but slower than Floramite,it is also low on the toxic scale.
Remember that mites get immune quickly to one miticide. Its always good to have a alternate in your spraying routine.

I am ordering these 2 products should be about$35 shipped for the 2 and will give them ago. I tried a heavy humidy of about 80% but that is a whole new issue you can make at that high a humidity watching for mildew mold or rot.

floramite is good stuff...needs to be applied to the whole plant underside of leaves an stems included....give the plant 3 applications...monday...thursday...monday....if you do it right the mites will be gone forever....if not they'll start building a tolerance to the floramite an another step will need to be taken....the other best miteicide is avid..it's farily more toxic so certain measure's need to be applied...long sleeve's an mask are a must....only 2 applicatoins of this are required...an the whole plant doesn't need to be sprayed..just the majority...avid is a systimic an makes the plant poision to insects trying to eat it...dont use in flower as it has like a 30 day residual....floramite can be used up to week 3 in flower.....fuck the borg..they make yeilds lower buds zizzle with bodies an webs.....az
