Mites and coco in pot...

I have a plant in a pot about 3 weeks old growing outside.

The plant itself is happy enough, but I can see there are some small mites running around on it.

I brush them off, but obviously they come back. There' probably max 5 or so at the moment.

Weather here is really hot at the moment. Humidity down in the day, up at night.

What's the best thing to do?
  • not worry
  • put the plant in the ground
  • apply some form of organic treatment
  • run round screaming and set fire to my garden
  • something else
Cheers for your help

I doubt it is mites as they aren't visible to the naked eye
Put the plant in the ground and let natural pest do their thing
There's a million type of mites some of them are up to 12mm long (1/2 an inch). Dunno about you but my eyes aren't that bad. :)

I'm wondering if they are trombidiidae.

Yeah I really want to put it in the ground but the biggest issue I have is visitors. My garden isn't exactly a maze of stuff, and I get a lot of people here who would certainly raise an eyebrow at least!

Well I guess fire is your only option :fire::bigjoint:
hahah, just need to find something to smoke and I'll get burning! :-)

You could use Neem oil, but outside your really at the mercy of Mother Nature.
Good luck
It doesn't currently look to be a problem, there's loads of other good vegetable stuff for them to eat. Something seems to particularly like the aubergines. I'll keep monitoring, if they build up I'll get neem on them.

Cheers guys, guess it was a bit of a none question really in the end, just my bored totally straight brain trying to keep itself amused with weed talk. Still it's nice to talk to other humans :blsmoke:
