mite destroyers

So I'm still having a problem with spider mites. Has any one out there had any success with mite destroyers? They are quite expensive. The best I've found with shipping is around $50.

Thanks

get spider mite knockout and the other bomb that is sold in conjuntion with it, it is a gasser like a bug bomb but it is very effective, use it again 3 days after the first run in order to kill the new hatchlings. never spray anything on the buds tho! if your in a full infestation mode then vacuum them bitches off! i wouldnt advice anything dilluted with water to go anywhere near your buds!

also, make sure your temps are stable, mites looooove hot temps 74* is where you want to be day and night. day and night.

and be sure to clean your room weekly. wipe the floors, walls hoods, everything once a week with a disinfectant.

I've used just about every bug bomb on the market and the spider mites just laugh at me, as they suck the juices out of my leaves. Bug Bombs = No Good.

Which ones have you had good results with, so I can give them a shot.

ive seen spider mite knockout work to great results.

ive never had a serious infestation, because i keep my rooms uninhabitable to them by cleaning everything every weekend, and keeping temps as close to 74* as i can and NEVER over 78-79*F. keeping mites at bay is that simple. clean rooms and steady temps! also never let fellow growers into your room that might have questionable growing practices.

never wear your daily shoes into the garden as grower contamination is the single most common source of infestations. always wash your hands before entering and never go in your room after being outside, at the very least always wear clean clothes into the garden.

one guy on here said he was going to gas them with CO2. i always thought that much CO2 would be fatal to plant also, but he said someone he knew did for one hour and there were no mites after that. he repeated for larvae 3 days and 6 days, or some schedule like that.

Dang... you keep your room that cold, just to keep spider mites at bay?? Thats just slowing down plant growth. I rum my room at 85, with the co2 flowin, and the plants grow like monsters on steroids. Spider mites like slow growing plants that arent in tip top shape.

So Spider mite Knockout, huh?? I'll have to look into that one. Im not a fan of bombs... but if I ever catch mites again.. I'll give it a shot.

That shit doesnt work. I tried that so many times... each time raising my PPM of Co2 higher and higher, for longer and longer. Didnt work at all.

And you do that during the dark cycle. Plants dont uptake co2 in the night cycle.

LoL. Are you from California?? If so, it was probably Judo or Avid. $20 for a small dropper type bottle. Shit knocks em out real quick.

yeah running your room at 85* is exactly why you keep having problems.

i will take a 2% slower metabolism at 74* over repeated infestations and repeated doses of chemicals to my girls, im a 100% organic guy after all.

Well you said that you have tried 'just about every bomb on the market' with mites laughing at you. And then said 'you've tried that shit so many times' in reference to suffocation with co2 and failed at that as well...

I would consider that ongoing issues.

I'm not trying to offend you, just pointing out that prevention is better than reaction. Which shows in my lack of infestations.

LoL. Your not offending me bro. My plants are flawless. I had a buddy about a year ago that had some fuckin GANGSTER spider mites. They laughed at everything we threw at them. Thats when I tried the bombs. Every bomb they had at the hydro store... and even went to Home Depot and bought a box of almost every bomb they had there. None of em did a damn thing.

The Co2 trick was something I tried a VERY long time ago.

Personally I havent had any insect problems in about a year and a half. The last pest I had, was root aphids and that was because of some shitty soil that I bought.

Im all about preventative maintenance. I dont go to the extreme of changing cloths before entering my room. But I will occasionally spray an organic pesticide like Azamax. I spray that once per week in veg, then twice in the beginning stages of flowering. I also do sulfur burns in veg to kill any type of mold spores. Then in flowering I'll do a burn on week 2 and week 4, to prevent from anything creeping up on me.

So nah.... no issues here man. If I did have issues, I wouldnt be sitting here trying to help others, if I cant help myself... if ya know what I mean. LoL.

A lot of good info there everyone. Thanks

But what I'm looking is people who have used mite destroyers/predators. http://www.ext.colostate.edu/pubs/insect/05507.html

So if you've got any first hand experience I would appreciate knowing how well it worked, how you applied them? And if you found a reasonable source? Shipping is the killer since there live shipped.

Oh.... there predator mites.. I've used those too at one point. I forgot the exact name of the company, but I paid for the biggest batch that they had. It came to me in a little Styrofoam box, with a cold packet inside to keep them cold. I let them loose, created the perfect environment for them and waited a week. The spider mites just got stronger, faster, since I changed my environment around to accommodate the beneficial mites. But the same environment the spider mites enjoyed as well.

So not to rule it out, I asked for a refund and they shipped me a replacement box. I left those suckers loose about a week and a half later. So then when I was about 2 and a half weeks into, the spider mites had taken over my damn garden. That was my first and last attempt trying to use those damn things.

Now ladybugs on the other hand... if you have aphids... then ladybugs will kick some ass... but as far of those destroyer mites... I wouldnt waste the cash and time my friend...

After you take them out of the styrofoam ice chest sort of box they come in.... you'll get this. I got the Triple Threat, which is a mixture of 3 different types of beneficial mites. Those ones they refer to as the destroyers, and 2 other types.

I used the biggest container on a small 4x8 table, and it didnt do shit..!! I've never heard of anyone having good results with these either... which is why you dont hear much about people using them. I was trying to fight nature with nature... but it didnt work out so well. It ended up just making my current spider mite infestation even worse. I wouldnt recommend them.

man when i had my greenhouse rolling i had bought like 6 packs of lady bugs and kept some in the fridge, i had a couple aphids migrate from my roses over to the greenhouse, which was made worse by the fact that there are ants galore around here.. ants actually farm aphids by taking them from densely populated area of the plant to other uninfected areas.. aphids suck! but after releasing only 2 packs of ladies they were all gone in a matter of 3 days! they really like mites but aphids are also a fav food, the problem with using them indoors is that they not only get everywhere but they go off into random corners and cracks of the room and die which can cause mold to form.
