From my limited experience, yes you can grow 1 plant in a 2x2' space nicely...just veg a few extra weeks...and it is much easier to manage 1 plant compared to 4...they are like little kids...too many and they drive ya nutz. :P
The pic above is my kinda micro box...its 48" (W) x 24" (D) x 40" (H) with nothing inside...subtract 7" for hydro tote and panel...subtract another 12" from panel to scrog screen (for air flow and I need to be able to fill my tote easily...lol)...and then lights are 4-6 off top of plants...not a lot of room left to grow, but it seems to do what I need...+4-5oz/35 days.
I wouldn’t recommend one plant I’ve done it and it’s super stressful. Especially when something starts to go wrong. I like 2 or 4 in that space.

Ah true...never thought about if it goes wrong...good point.
I'm one to make the plant grow no matter if its gonna finish nice or not...just teaches me more of the "what not to do's"...lol

im thinking of using the tent as a space for mother plants and having a desk to grow in and work out some piece of furniture to grow the clones in, idk i have a good chunk of time to figure it out. it might just be that i have two tents at the end of the day.

And that’s easier to do when you have more than one. When you have one it’s easier to debate starting over. When you have 4 one can be bad and you can keep it. Knowing worse case scenario you’ll have 3 good ones.

I’ve done it and I would grow at least two of it was me.

at least that was my experience with a 2x2
