miracle grow

Its full of insoluble time releases synthetic nutes. You would have to flush it tough and then cook / compost it for a 6 months to a year. Then it would be good.

its better to make your own mix. Peat moss, pumice, compost, worm castings plus what ever nutes you want to use.

its the boogey man soil boo! it can work if you understand it has nutes in it and not to overwater .your better off getting cheap patio plus soil at home depot and using mg ferts easier to control intake if you like mg ferts

I am of the opinion, that all soils "Out of the Bag" must be amended...you must build your medium...
I add 12.5% Perilite and 12.5 % Vermiculite... [that's 25% of medium]
Then Bag soil... The brand doesn't matter... why, cause I buy two or three different brands and mix them up... for my medium...
Then I add Organic Bone meal, Blood Meal, and some garden Veg Tone also organic...

Yes I've used Miracle Grow many times.... it mixes well with all soils....
Sometimes... The stores just don't have a big variety of soils everywhere year round....
Sometimes... you must buy what they have not what you want....

I am of the belief, that any brand soil right out of the bag, no matter how much it is formulated for MJ...
It still must be amended....
MG Haters... Tell the truth...
You never even tried it... you just like to join in on a bash fest...
If you admit, you have grown with MG soil, and you killed your plants "Overnight"
Either you are a liar, or and idiot... there is no middle ground....

I've used mg in the past. Thats how I know about the mushrooms that pop in the container pot. Making my own mix produces far better results. for cheap too. I only buy stuff to make a soil mix once a year. I recycle and reuse my soil every batch. I do living organics no till. I just topdress every batch.

I would not consider mg soil to be organic at all. full of synthetic nutrients / chems probably too.

MG soils is roughly $8 for 2 cubic feet, how is anything cheaper? a box of bone meal cost twice as much.

You can absolutely get good results with miracle grow. Is it the #1 choice...obviously not but if you are on a budget grab that shit. Depending on my financial situation I will use it to test seeds but after I lock down my keepers I like to switch it to something alittle more high quality.

a bale of peat moss - 6 .5 cu ft $12 , 2 cu ft of pumice $10. Wormcastings 2 cu ft $30, compost 1 cu ft $5. even with the mg being $8 you still need to add either perlite or pumice for aeration. worm castings and compost too. its $12 more and half a cubic foot less total.. Using mg alone without amending is plain stupid.

mg has time release nitrogen. it doesnt have anything else. so you would still have to add other nutes... Making your own mix is cheaper and better quality.

Its getting harder and harder to find a "decent" potting mix in stores that doesnt have time release nutes. Danky Supreme is right. One can absolutely get good results from MG soils and nutes. There are far too many well documented MG grows just on this site alone to say different.
If you are on a budget by all means use it, but bear it in mind when you start feeding. Its always optimal to build your own organic soils and KNOW whats there, but not everyone has that luxury.

ANYTHING Monsanto puts out is full of toxins. period. Yes it will grow dank and so will hydro with chem ferts, but who wants to smoke that OR support MG ? I dunno, if its purity and healthiness you're looking for its obvious. Grow with chems and then grow with garden soil and a bit of compost only. You won't get your yield but the taste and quality will outshine the chem stuff. The 'easy way' is a trap, that you will pay for in the long run, IMO poisoned soil, poisoned body. Cheers.

These MG threads are lame and never informative.

Who the fuck would ever say MG is good, decent or great soil? NOOBIES

Who the fuck really ever grew dank in MG soil? NO ONE

Get roots organic soil. Enough said.

It blows my mind that this thread can get 17 replies in two days, when there are people on here who are asking legit stuff that isn't already common knowledge, but can't get a bit of advice.

Rant over.
