and i am, not poking anyone that uses mg. just hate the company, not the end user.

best thing to do is loose anything to do with mg...soils or foods. i only use pro mix proffesional hp. up here its about 25 bucks a bail of 107 liters. so also many times more medium for couple bucks more than one of their bags. its a soiless and is easy to learn on and good all way up to pro growers. can be amended easily and not mess with the mix structure to much....not needed though.
ya test the tap ph and ppm if you have that. dont recall if you said yes or not. want the water as close to 7 pH and 0 ppm. not many get 0 so dopnt worry to much there. for pH up or down for me i use Humic acid for up an Folvic for down. it also feeds the microbes in the medium tio break down thwe food faster to be uptaken better. and i use less than i did when i used the up or down solutions. and is organic.
got a link to that lowes...but i suspect its not much better. most chain or box stores will have lower quality stuff.

and learn as much on ph, probably one of the most important items to watch. also read on cation exchange. ask away dood. its what im here for.

if mg is a must then just watch the pH. check the run off every couple weeks and be easy on any foods if use them at all for weeks. some of their soils last for...or claim they last for 3 months.
get the pro mix hp, or even their bx, or sunshihne #4, .....my preff in that order

I started my first grow (auto ak47 x auto diesel lowlife) in MG organic potting soil. I guess I didn't do enough research and didn't mix any perlite with it (looks like I should have done 66% MG organic and 33% perlite).. Is it possible to mix in perlite with the soil, even tho it's been planted for 4 days and about 1" tall..? Or should my baby grow fine in 100% MG organic? (I am planning on using just purified water for first 3 weeks until flowering and then using some bloom nutes)....

first I used mg organic then pro mix bx now hydro but the mg organic works way better than regular mg its full of chicken shit and plants love all that nitrogen in the veg stage. I used mg organic first cuz I couldn't find nething else but then I saw bails of promix behind a local nursery and asked them and sure enough...got it but yea just look in the phone book at local nurserys if you dont want mg and you will be surprised at what they got in the back... o yea and if you do go with mg organic amend it with 25-50% perlite cuz the stuff will compact over time and carful you dont get perlite with nutes in it
