miracle grow organic question

i just transplanted my baby girl into a organic mix finally,it started flowering the first of the month and i was just wondering something the back of the pack says it will feed it for up to 2 months now im only flowering for a lil less then 2 weeks then that so i was just wondering (because on the back it says 10-5-5 for npk) would i have to feed it more phosphoresce? or just not worry about it and let it grow on its own till the last 3 weeks before harvest and flush all the nutes out and no its not the time release nutes any help at all will be appreciated thank you

sup i also use mg soil bro, no you will still need to feed especially in flower due to the stretch itll use whatever is in the soil in like 3-4 weeks. i usually feed in the 3rd week after i transplant and start flowering and give them a good shot of P

so in three weeks i should feed it ?

Miracle Gro organic choice as far as I know (Source:Scott's Webpage) is a time release formula. Do not grow in time release nutes. Why don't you support a brand like Bio Bizz or Aurora and use a quality potting soil like Light or Roots. These companies know who there market is. Scott's market is not cannabis growers and organic gardening hobbyists. Scott's puts the weird green lawn on that funny white house you live in.

But since your plants are in soil already I would wait it out. If you have a few grows under your belt you should be able to tell the difference between a happy plant and an unhappy one. I wouldn't add nutes unless I physically saw the need. If you need help identifying when you need to fertilize and what with hit up the RIU forums (A camera and pics are VERY helpful) or send me a message. Peace.

I have used all the MG soils and the organic mix seemed to be the most consistent. It also appears to be rather neutral on the nutes, for that reason today it is still what I start all my seeds in before transplanting to FF soil. And for that reason, if I where using the organic mix for the entire grow, I'd start feeding them as soon as I put them in flower.

sorry but i disagree with you. ive used many MG products and MG organic does not contain time release nutes, i dont know if you read it wrong or read under different product but from my exp. there is no time release in mg organic

I would tend to agree with you. It possibly could be a batch I had, but on more than one occasion, I have had to supplement the mg organic I use to start my seedlings with blood meal to get it to really start growing quickly.

It seems to be a really tame soil. I've never had any burning or bad growth with it on young plants. It just seems to need some addition of 'N' sometimes, then supplement with nutes at the start of flower.

I also agree with GT and pelt, but Im fairly new to organic soil amending so i may be wrong. I feel it is rather netrual though, and must be amended/fed. I start with this stuff called Moo-nure which is cow poo and black/gold compost, and then mix in some perlite for a basic potting soil. It keeps a low npk rating but helps enrich the medium.

MG organic is great, but you should plan on ammending it. Here's a recipe that I'm using that's working well.

Hot Mix
1 sm bag MGO (34cups)(130g/cup)
10 cups worm castings
8 cups perlite
8 cups vermiculite
1 cup dry algae meal or 2 cups liquid algae
100 grams Happy Frog 5-5-5
100 grams PlantTone (very similar to happy frog yet some variation on the ingredients)
100 grams bone meal
2 tbs fish emulsion
2 tbs hibrix molasses
2 tbs humic acid
add all dry ingredients to the 34 cups (one bag of soil) and mix well with a motorized mixer.
mix all liquid ingredients and add to soil until wet (not saturated).
mix the whole sebang well and put in a bucket and let it incubate for 30 days. Mix every other day. Use it in the bottom half of your pot.

Light Mix
34cups MGO
10cups castings
8cups perlite
8cups vermiculite
25grams happy frog 5-5-5
1tsp fish emulsion
1tsp algae emulsion
1tsp molasses
1tsp humic acid
mix as described above, incubate for 30 days as above.

Wet both mixtures with your liquid concoction once a week. Use about 100 to 200 ml. After 30 days use the light mix in the top half of your pot. Towards the end of your grow you may need to make a tea or do a light top dressing to boost the nutes in the soil (if your using small pots).

Do that to your MGO and it'll be the shiznit.

Why not do like the other guy said and get some "real" organic soil geared towards marijuana? It might cost a few bucks more, but your yield is only going to be as good as the weakest part of your grow whether it be nutes, lighting, or soil. You could amend it like somone said, but by the time you buy all that shit and spend your time mixing it you'll probably spend just as much as you would on some better soil and save yourself the time and effort as well.
