you are correct Zappa was a great man.. a genius ahead of his time.
MG all purpose works fine...Indeed I prefer MG for tomatos which is 18-18-21, I never said it was the best or optimum, but it will work fine... I have been growing plants for many decades.... my preferred fertilizers are Jacks classic and Dyna Gro... but that doesn't mean that MG all purpose is inadequate....I have been using Jacks CItrus for my last several ganga crops....I love that stuff...

I would start out using it every other watering! Glad you caught that tomato type suggestion!

So mix it with the gallon an put into a spray bottle an use it every other watering and when that gallon is gone up the level from like 1/4 teaspoon to 1/3 or 1/2

Go easy...
Every other watering...
Mix 1/2 strength the first week...
[so if it says use 1 tablespoon per gallon, mix at 1/2 tablespoon per gallon]
Mix a full gallon...
If plant responds well, up strength to full after third week on MG...
I use them off and on always... they work fine...
DO NOT MIX TOO STRONG... never mix more than recommended dose... NEVER !!!!

Less is more....

That is good advice.
I like to feed with each watering so I use far less.
1/4 to 1 full teaspoon for indoor plants.
1 full teaspoon to two teaspoons for outdoor plants in containers.
Up to a full tablespoon for plants in the ground.

Im as new to MJ as you are , but my understanding is that most 'autos' are very hardy and need little in the way of nutrients when grown in soil.

Being that most autos grow 60-90 day range , the soil should be able to provide all you need , Yes you can get better results by useing ferts , but as a newibe you also can eazly kill your plants

I have zero experience with autos, so I am unable to provide any advice.
Best of luck on your grow. Spend as much time with your plant(s) as you can. It is important to get to "know" your plant(s), as this will make you a better grower.
