Miracle Gro Moisture Control

Has anyone tried this with positive results? I'm a habitual over-waterer and it seems like it might help, plus the nutrient comp is pretty good. I usually use foxfarms but I've had a lot of problems with watering. Just kinda seems like training wheels formula.

I used it once because a fellow grower gave me a free clone and i didnt have any soil. It was Miracle grow and steer manure on the bottom. It came out to be ok a 4.5/10 on my scale, Bartered and had personal of it.

But Just Straight Miracle grow I would not want to do it because you can taste it, Even when you Flush for two weeks (which i did, my outdoor goes two weeks sometimes three depending on amount of ferts i used)

will never use miracal grow agian or any other soil that has pre mixed nutes its like every second or third watering you wind up with nute burn. just to hard on the girls so never agian mix your own better that way

And to everyone else, what's the point of saying just straight MG. I didn't say MG I said the moisture control. If you wanna come in here bashing MG that's fine, I don't give a rat's ass, but at least be talking about the same stuff I am.

The Taste alone will kill all potential greatness from the miracle grow, Spend the extra 6-8 dollars for quality potting soil. We all have things we need to perfect in our rooms or grows, its the fun of perfecting your green thumb.

And the reason everyone hates on mg is because lets say you did a grow for a co-op/club and you went to bring the product of the mg most will kick you out and never let you back in. I know personally because my gf club that she ran did not want anything to do with mg.

Waste of time and effort. £12.50 you can get 50 litres of the coco coir.
Water once with about a litre of water with quarter strength nutes untill it gets bigger every 2 days.

The plant above was grown in MGMC. 2ft3 of MGMC to 1 bag of MG Perlite. Good luck.

I have great success with MGMC. It's almost half the cost of FFOF. I grow in 3 gal pots and i water by the weight of my pots and its easier to tell the diff with the MGMC soil. This is green crack with 2 weeks to go.

I'm using MGMC, and it seems to be doing well.

i like mg moisture control soil. im using it now and it keeps them green throughout veg u onnly need to start nutes in flowering cuz the soils got enough till than!

I've grown fantastic tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, and a ton of other stuff on MG nutes. I already said I don't care if people hate MG, I just wanted to know if the moisture control version works. I start my seeds in rockwool anyway they aren't going to nute burn early, and there isn't a place within 80 miles that sells anything like FF soil, I ask the local places about worm casings and they look at me like I have 2 heads. It's either MG or plain walmart dirt which the last 2 times had cutworms eggs or spider mites. I just wanted to know if the MC was worth it or stick with regular, and I got my answer. I'm not paying 30 bucks for 8 QT of FF on amazon. My green thumb is just fine tyvm.

I actually used the outdoor version on my tomatos this year and they have grown amazingly. The indoor version has a slightly different nute comp but I was really impressed at how well it worked. We had heavy rains followed by a long dry spell, and I purposely didn't water them, and I didn't have any sort of problem at all. Most people that responded to the moisture control mix seem to have high praise for it, and it's not the same as normal MG, so I'm giving it a run. Might start a grow log, gonna throw a blue widow and a bubblegum in there see how they do.

Been using MGMC for awhile. I grow & clone with it.
Once you dial it in,, it'll work just as good (and cheaper) than anything else out there.
I've never noticed an offending flavor or anything. I don't flush or hold back nutes. I just try and cure properly and it's all good.

i tried MGMC for my 1st grow - did not get a good result
plant started out nice, then some yellowing appeared in the fan leaves which progressively got worse
never did figure out the trouble
but i do see some have good luck with it, i didn't - i suspect it is not a good beginners soil

ok i know this sound wierd but its what is working for me,,, in the mgmc soil there is a bunch of little balls filled with fertalizer that time realeses....... anyway lay a tarp down spread the whole bag out on the tarp and jump on it all over it will smash the fert balls then spray it down mix it up and let it dry a little then plant,,like i said sounds wierd but worked for me i am feeding full strenght without any burn,,, i personally wouldnt use it but i am doing a medical grow for a friend and thats what he got,,, when i switch to my 25 gallon pots will add steer manure and perlit to the mgmc hope this helps bud,,,,like i said its what worked for me

I got some the day I put up the first post, and swapped a few AF's that weren't doing to well into it at a ration of 2:1 with perilite. All signs of nute burn stopped, and the plants REALLY took off. This is the same strain I started another thread on that the 3rd set of leaves I had problems with growing in yellow, the G13 AF that they stopped selling for a while. It's not the normal AF easy grow. The nute ratio is really good though, I flushed it once before adding the plant and will continue to use a slightly watered down (no pun intended) grow big and big bloom. @previous poster, those little balls I believe are potassium, it's the way to delay them to flowering time. I've never crushed them, and I will state that normal MG I've never had good results. As for it not being a good beginner soil, if you throw some perilite in it, might as well be MG perilite while we're at it since it has the same nute ratio, you may actually be able to grow it without adding nutes. Not that I'd advise it, but I watered 3 party cups with this soil. Put an over watering, and underwatering, and an average watering, and one of plain top soil with perilite as a control. The over watering drained about as much as the control, the average watering held it all, and the underwatering obviously held it all. 2 days later, using the moisture meter that was recommended, the 3 MG's had almost the same moisture level and were all 3 about the same as the control, so the moisture control actually does work. I'm going to see how long I can go before they go totally dry, will keep up to date.

Again, I hate MG regular. This is by no way an endorsement of their nutes or regular soil. This is just the moisture control, which I have found to be a very forgiving soil and with the mositure control, if I do get nute burn I know I can flush the hell out of it and give it an extra day to recover because of the stored water.
